You have to be really carefully with the news. It isn't straightforward. I mean Russia invades a country and the ES is up substantially, and the ZB and ZN are down. Go figure. Price behaviour is everything. Other than knowing when key reports come out everyday, I completely ignore the news.
You can tell most of the time, if there is news on a stock, or index most of the time. There will be a price and volume spike. If there is no spike it wasn't that important. I still like knowing whats out there on the stock though. I hardly ever trade without some sort of internet news open. Now the tv I can do without.
