Jesus was at the top of the hill that he was being crucified. He screamed "Peter" St Peter rushed up and said "Yes my lord" "Peter", Jesus screamed again "Yes my Lord Peter climbed his way up and was beaten at every step. He finally approached Jesus "Yes my Lord. what is it? "I can see your house from here" This is coming from a Roman Catholic that has seen the light
The bible likes to portray humans as evil, liars, sinners, guilty, failing, frail, corrupt etc. How can a christian then love themself? If one cannot love themselves, how is it possible to love others. And it follows, if one cannot be honest with themselves, how is it possible to be honest with others.
https://renew.org/the-historical-ev...rrection-of-jesus-evidence-for-easter-part-3/ Summary of the evidence: So, somebody was crucified ±50 years or so from when Jesus was crucified in the same general area the Bible says Jesus was crucified and entombed. It might have been Jesus, but the Bible says the tomb was empty, the body gone. But the evidence from this tomb wasn't empty, unless one considers the ankle bone not part of the body. So, there are empty tombs in the general area. Surely, Jesus was in at least one of them (see the Monty Hall problem). But typical crucifixion victims were not buried and left for scavengers to eat. It seems more likely that if Jesus was crucified, there was no tomb. So, some anonymous authors wrote 30-100 years after the resurrection that there were people who said they saw Jesus after he was crucified. The actual evidence is a little sketchy on this, so it seems like one needs faith to believe it. I guess it's possible the evidence from your link is 100% correct, but there are other possibilities ...
Though the stone only refers to Pilate himself, it still offers some verified proof that a person directly involved in the crucification of the Christian God, from the Bible was indeed a real person. This in and of itself is some proof of the possibility that Jesus of Nazareth was actually a real person. Now before you freak out on me, notice I used the word possibility, not probability, not proof. The existence of Pilate is a form of circumstancial evidence. If you or I were a prosecutor, we would use this piece of information and the physical stone as circumstancial evidence. I know that the debate of religion, or the existence of God, or Jesus is not a trial, I'm just using it as a metaphor per se.
Pilate would likely have resided at Caesarea, an hour and 18 minutes drive (in a modern car) from Jerusalem. Herod, on the other hand, apparently had a palace in Jerusalem. So, unless Pilate was staying at Herod's palace during Passover 0033, there was not likely a midnight shuttle between the Jewish leadership (Sanhedrin), Herod's palace, and Ceasar's residence the night before the crucifixion. Personally, i'm sure that Pilate was the sole instigator of the crucifixion in response to rumors that this Jesus was the "Messiah", which by written tradition would be "The King Of The Jews". He wanted to quash that while Jews streamed, from all over the world, into the gates of Jerusalem for the big feast of Passover. The legacy narrative involves the Jews, in particular the high priest, as the main protagonists in making the crucifixion happen. This is because it was the intent of the legacy narrators to frame Jesus as the fulfilment of the Jewish Passover, which would then be seen as something prophetic...something of a placeholder until the actual blood sacrifice took place. The involvement of the high priest was seen as necessary so that this sacrifice would be seen as just that, but also a valid sacrifice, at the hands of the legit leadership. The distance from Ceasarea to Jerusalem should present plenty evidence that the scribers of the legacy narrative had an agenda that, when seen as spurious, impeaches much else of what they said that Jesus said and/or did.
I've never disputed the existence of a particular religious person who these days goes by the name Jesus. There probably highly likely was this guy guru, but after his death, imo, all sorts of fables were then constructed and he was made out to be some god messiah, which then was conveniently created to follow on from jewish myths about a coming messiah. Religiously inclined people will dream up anything and all the sheeple will agree. Its human nature, sheeple, gurus, god, miracles..... The jews are particularly good at constructing elaborate stories which are half baked but very convincing, most of USA Gummint believe all this zionist nonsense, but are discovering just now how they can get burnt.
