Seems the markets need awful news to drop.. No news is good news.. If we see 1375 we'll see 1400 and 12800..
What good news? You mean "good rumors". I'm short this Bull Shit spike. easy 10 handles pull back from the highs.
no one is bitching..1% move in QQQQ on ABK news in less than 5 min is just not right..or ABK is part of nasdaq 100?
These Spikes are not fun for anyone actually.. I am long but these are signs of an unhealthy market.. Any real old traders here? Was Wall street always like this?.. the meddling and absolute refusal to let the last leg of the chair break?
In case you havent figured this out. This whole system is like a sweater. You yank on one piece of it the wrong way and the whole thing falls apart. Should all these companies be affected by the monolines, no, but when technology puts everything at your fingertips corelation becomes a problem
seems to me like most people don't understand how markets work. It wants to go up and later some news is delivered. Also I wonder if someone has recently checked market correlations. US markets are strongly outperforming most other markets, i.e. ESTX, Dax. So right now they all blame it on the us-market and economy, the banks there and subprime losses and at the same time this market is relative to other markets one of the strongest... So maybe things in US are not getting as worse as some may think...
Are you saying they are or aren't? Im seeing the filling volume on the nyse becomming very low vs the posting volume and we have supposedly been in hybrid for some time now. I am always finding that I cannot get filled at my price because the stock stops there, not matter where I put it even when its hidden, reserve, ecn, etc. the book fills better but I find that every price on the book goes against me at least 9Xs out of 10 I see prices being pushed with size and held on both sides creating compression that explodes without volume confirmation. It seems that if you cannot afford to fade moves or protect your orders you are at an extreme disadvantage. the market may or may not be "more" or "less" manipulated, but what is your take on whats happening and how long it will last. I believe if we break 1255 we can go back to normal, but without a long or short daily trend bias what is one to do?
