What did Trump say which was stupid regarding hydrochloroquine? I think you just went off half informed and you were dick for leading with an insult.
That's right , everybody speaks like Trump now. . . . . . ''If it works , it's a miracle and i'm the greatest in the history of this country , and if it doesn't . . . . that's still ok and i'm still the greatest.'' Also the Indians(where Trump likes to buy on the cheap) has stopped exporting the drug. They probably know more about it's side effects than Trump. India just dealt a massive blow to Trump’s promotion of unproven COVID-19 drug President Donald Trump has been heavily promoting the use of anti-malarial drug hydroxychloroquine to treat COVID-19, even though top American medical professionals warn that the drug is unproven and has potentially harmful side effects for some people. Trump’s efforts to promote the drug have now been dealt a massive blow, however, as Bloomberg is reporting that India has now cut off all its exports of hydroxychloroquine, which is particularly troublesome given that the United States receives roughly half its supply of the drug from India. “According to data compiled by Bloomberg Intelligence, 47 percent of the U.S. supply of the drug last year came from India makers,” the publication writes. “Only a handful of suppliers in the top 10 are non-Indian, such as Actavis, now a subsidiary of Israeli generics giant Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. It’s likely that some of their production facilities are nevertheless located in India, the biggest maker of generic drugs in the world.”
So Indian government can tell private companies manufacturing the drug there that they can't send it out of the country? Sure, buddy. That won't do anything to utterly destroy their ability to produce for these companies in the future, because those companies won't care that their supply chain has been overruled by a hostile government. You're friggen looney tunes.
there was an article I read in axios this morning. After Fauci used his anecdotal line in a meeting, Navarro slammed his folder full of studies and said this is science.... I see it as this. Fauci can't be wrong.. so he waits for big data to confirm. Others may think... we can't afford to wait... and the risk is small provided the doctors understand the risk and discuss it patients.
and that's the approach that's being taken. The push back is on propagandizing it as a cure when the jury's still out.
