Not so sure about made to die "natural, slow deaths". There is no feed back mechanism for such a thing. A slow death might be horrible to deal with. That is what my logic tells me. I have watched a few relatives die a slow death and some of them looked like they weren't having much fun at all. I would rather go quick. From what I have read, a real nice shot gun blast to the head does the trick.
All indications are consciousness transits gradually, this is just what I and others believe. You want to see Valhalla (or whatever), don't get head shot. Decapitation, might be ok. Personally I favor heart attack. I'm sure you like Jem were more focused on whether you were in the will than paying any attention to process. I've volunteered in hospices for my adult life off an on. Nothing to do with the sniper thing, just it feels important someone helps.

Not sure where I can get ahold of one. ha ha I have always thought a heart attack would be "stressful". Heh, if we are not in the will then where are we? (Outside the will). Hospice does a great service, I will say that for sure. I used to have a friend who was a sniper. (Vietnam) He was a lot older than me but that guy was one cool son of a gun. When I met him, he was homeless so I got him a trailer and put him in my backyard. I miss that guy.
Heart attacks hurt like hell, I had a couple of previews before I had stents put in but its just for a while, even if for a few hours sometimes. Military snipers who have killed on orders not careful choice.. probably going to hell like most modern soldiers fighting asymmetrically. Look for him there when you arrive.
This was according to the book, aside from some emotional excess and some apparently unwanted advice. Officer says:"You should be wearing a mask. It is not the law." Turns to the ponytail and says "You are trespassing without a warrant." Lawyer on speed-dial could have saved a lot of handwaving, lol.
