This is not true. The weight of scientific evidence is on the side global warming being real.

  2. Even if global warming is occurring, how do we know that this isn't just a normal long-range oscillation of regular weather patterns on earth? How can we even begin to presume we can prove "anything" with just a hundred years worth of weather records when these cycles could span thousands or even hundreds of thousands?

It seems like a political issue totally. There are enough people out there that believe humans are "destroying the environment" that politicians swarm in with all these ideas to fix a problem that might not even be a problem to begin with.

I agree that if there is a recycle bin next to the trash bin, we should take the extra 2 seconds out and do the right thing, but a lot of these ultra-liberals will have you believe that the world is going to end next year -- oh wait, the year after that -- oh no, the following year ... well, at some point it will end.

Yes, eventually when the sun starts to run out of fuel it will expand and we will indeed be experiencing some serious global warming. However, right now the only thing politicians are doing when it comes to preaching about global warming is playing the emotional card on a lot of people who don't know much more than what they hear on the 10 o'clock news before going to bed.

Your political bias is showing young Aphie.

  5. Political Bias? How so? We live in a world filled with biases. I'm sure what you believe to be correct is correct in your world. Likewise, the things John Doe believes is correct in his worldview, but not necessarily in yours.

Republican / Liberal .... Reactionary / Communist ... Fasict, Anarchist, Centrist, etc. These are nice convenient words to pigeonhole someone's views. See, we live in a world where many people are too lazy to want to take the time to truly understand another man's political views. So instead, we invent words like "conservative" or "liberal" as a shoebox to throw people in.

"Oh, Sally is big on the environment, so let's throw her in the liberal box." Don't bother to ask how Sally feels about Capital punishment, abortion, etc -- Since we already know the answers. She's a liberal now, because she is concerned with the environment.

"Oh Ted, he likes his guns and just bought a new one!" Oh, let's just throw Ted in the republican shoebox and now suddenly we know all about how Ted feels if you abort a baby or cut a welfare check for someone."

That's why when you make a statement like "Your political bias is showing," it actually says, "I'm done trying to understand your worldview so I'm going to throw you in a political shoebox."

The fact that you suddenly see a bias in me says more about the bias that actually resides in you.

  7. Think about it for a moment, free of politcal bias.

Which is potentially a greater danger.

    Terrorism, or pollution?

  8. agree that would be welcomed by canadians.... but with the polar melting and raising of ocean levels, wouldn't be much of Florida left to visit anyway :p

  9. Global warming didn't blow up the World Trade Center. Any danger from it is purely theoretical.

The only damage global warming has done is to the careers of academic and government scientists who have voiced skepticism.

  10. Would someone explain why the much feared "polar melting" will raise sea levels. If ice melts in a glass of water, the glass doesn't overflow.
