  2. I always hear that but is there actually any empirical evidence? I don't support it or doubt it because I have never seen any research. To say that the character trait of denial is responsible for all hatred against gays is a bit of an over generalization.

    I understand your point.

If society doesn't accept homosexuality, we lose a member of society. That person may be disowned by family, friends, prone to substance abuse, engage in risky behavior to his and everyone's detriment.

In America we value life, without conditions.

Sorry -- while I have nothing against gays.. I just hate seeing fabrications being accepted as true by so many.

There may be a percentage of people who were born gay ... but there is also a percentage of gays who choose the behavior. Anyone who knows gays knows Homosexualityness" falls along a spectrum so lets not pretend Peil should know gays are born that way.

And another point... most homosexuality in "nature" is the type of homosexuality you see in prison. Social dominance through rape.

In my opinion Gays should have the same rights as anyone else their choice in sex partners does should make them a protected minority group.

  6. Dr. George Rekers, a Christian anti-gay leader, was caught with a hooker from Rentboy.com—the latest example of hypocrisy on the religious right. Michelle Goldberg on why Ted Haggards keep happening.

In 1996, three researchers from the University of Georgia published a study in the Journal of Abnormal Psychology about the links between homophobia and homosexual arousal. The authors, Henry E. Adams, Lester W. Wright, Jr., and Bethany A. Lohr, started with 35 straight men identified as homophobic and 29 straight men that were not. Both groups were shown heterosexual, lesbian and gay male porn while their erectile responses were measured. “Only the homophobic men showed an increase in penile erection to male homosexual stimuli,” reported the researchers.

It was empirical evidence for a theory long popular among psychoanalysts: that those most hostile to gay people are often driven by terror and shame about their own desires.

  7. I'll side partially with Peil on this one mainly because I've watched how Hollywood and the media have both contributed towards "celebrating" homosexuality with increased enthusiasm over the past 20 years or so. I've got nothing against gays who wish to remain discreet, but that isn't what is encouraged, it's the "flaming", look at me flamboyance of being gay that seems to be the now thing.

It's sure money that any flick that has anything to do with lesbians or gays will get an Oscar nod. Same thing goes for much of the programming on tv. Queer eye for the Straight Guy type shit. This whole culture of "because I'm gay, I'm smarter than you, I dress better and I'm funnier". Don't for a moment think that the gay mafia who puts this crap together isn't funding all of this?

So yeah, Peil actually has a very valid point, unfortunately, the knee jerk reaction is to put one's head in the sand and start spewing out a bunch of politically correct nonsense. For the most part, that's all I've seen in this thread.

  8. The "event" had nothing to do with homosexuality and everything to do with two pathetic actors in desperate need of attention. Look at me, PLEASE LOOK AT ME. Nothing but whores for the camera. Just a couple a sad, ego filled men, that can't get over themselves.

  10. All the world old is queer save thee and me, and even thou art a little queer.
    Robert Owen

According to "The Houghton Mifflin Dictionary of Biography," Welsh social and educational reformer Robert Owen (1771-1858) is reported to have uttered the following words to his partner W. Allen on the dissolution of their business partnership:

I always thought this quote to be quite close to the truth, even if he meant something a bit different. And with every passing d(g)ay, looks like I was right, again.
