don't forget genius. He's already given himself a ten on his handling of the Corona virus crisis so far. So, I don't know how you get better from perfect -- he's a "genius". He'll figure out how to get to eleven on scale of one to ten....
Hilarious. If you have to announce your supposed triumph, then you really have lost and just don't know it. Says the person impressed by their knowledge of exponentiation from elementary. You are the lot buying the dips as hospitals shutter their doors. You are equivocating the common sense of hygiene with the high level knowledge of epidemiology. Now who's bogan.
I would agree. Some people are quite fond of exponentials so let's discuss the logistic curve. Yesterday were at 571K and the growth in a day was the same as the total number of cases March 6. If the infection probability were steady, we would have only 395K today. The infection rate is still accelerating. This pretty much illustrates a failure of social distancing. You can't get the virus if you literally barricaded yourself 24/7. We saw the opposite at the beaches. A report said the worst case was 2 million global death. This makes sense if the logistic shows a maximum of 105M cases beginning seriously slow things as the infection rates drop. You can't catch what you already have. Aside from Corona. It wouldn't matter if Corona were magically eradicated tomorrow. How are you going to repossess 10 million cars. Then pay the flooring tax. Are the Manufacturers going pauses that as well. What about credit cards. Everybody is talking about mortgages and rent. Very few are talking about credit cards, cars, etc. During the Great Recession, car delinquencies quadrupled to 4%. Payment delinquencies were measured per 120 days late instead of 30 days. They had nowhere to store the cars if they did.
The deaths per million are currently 178 in Italy and 146 in Spain. I'll guess these may rise to 220 and use that as my figure. If the USA gets that bad, it would mean 70,000 deaths. It's scary how many parts of the USA are still left to be infected. There is already the beginnings of rioting in southern Italy for food shortages.
My sentiments as well. They say that the Midwest has yet to be nearly as affected. I am both amazed and yet not surprised at the denial fever buying.
My triumph came after your ad hominem attacks, a clear sign of defeat. My "knowledge of exponentials" was not meant to impress you, merely to show that anyone who got a decent k-12 education would be following social distancing guidelines. You for some reason are chose to go on endless tangents. Two can play that game, here's mine: "Libertarianism is the pipe dream of this college generation, much like communism was for the last 40 years"
Simply amazing. You obviously do not know what libertarianism is, or liberalism or communism for that matter. It is absolutely hilarious you think college students are by and large libertarian. I will enlighten you a bit since all you do is point to straw man arguments that I am ranting, which is a cop-out and a fool's argument. College students were voting for Bernie Sanders the quasi-socialist, but he disgraces socialism as well. He wouldn't know it like you if it hit him in the face. The Swedes are the only people to have successfully enacted socialism. Libertarians would absolutely not be ok with debt-financing and taxation to fund free education. You are speaking out of both sides of your mouth. You say "pipe dream of this college generation" as if you are not a disgruntled millennial. It is ironic because you certainly write like one if you're not. Liberals want free education and Liberals are certainly not Libertarians. I know they may be easy for you to mix up. And you must have mixed them by ignorantly calling this "college generation ... Libertarians". Then you ignorantly called my first statement "a lefty rant", which we have already proven you don't know what liberal ideology is since you think this "college generation" Libertarianism lovers. My rant if that's what you want to call it, leaned to the other side. This sounds like an angry liberal rant to me. This looks like an angry liberal and atheist rant. You certainly are not a Conservative or a Republican with statements like those. Funny, you would cast shade on liberal college students when you yourself are one.
