They will say that an Alien invasion or something big of this kind is happening. As it will be an urgency situation it will require a fast thinking who can easly be mislead. Only consciousness who have reached the exponential economy or Golden Age can do this kind of travel... So they don't need any physical ressource that we use, or have... They will only be interrested in our spirit... However no one can enslave a free child of Man, neithermore their spirit... Furthermore I think if the National Defense System can't withstand this attacks it better to be able to detect it earlier, and be able to patch it... Because you know, hackers only want to know what's thought to be secret...
