I'm right! ha ha, where will you go from here AAPL? Selling should be just started and expect it to become blooded. I'll long FB only, short all others.
Apple down 2%, hmmmmm Thought with the long lines of millions of people waiting for the 5 that the stock should have been closing in on $800 or $900 by now. Didnt they say this company will be the first in history to get to a Trillion market cap. They said the same thing about cisco over 10 years ago and guess what happened..........
AAPL selling off again, I think it was yesterday they were saying according to the charts buy apple on any dip, what kind of dip are the referring to? 10% off, 25% off, 50% off. Maybe the iphone5 isnt has hot as everyone thought it to be, I mean if you think about it all it has is a bigger screen, a faster LTE connection and lighter, nothing break through there.
but if every iphone 4 user buys one then the company will earn enough to justify a higher stock price. AAPL stock doesn't price in growth. They have to maintain the product cycle upgrade. There's no reason to believe that they won't succeed in this iteration of the iphone.
Its still way to early to tell where the iphone 5 is headed in sales, one weekend does not make a definite call on how many iphone5s will be sold this quarter, many people are thinking it will pass last years sales of the 4s for the last quarter going into christmas. This time apple is having much competition from the Samsung galaxy and other android phones such as the HTC and Nexus. Apple will have to continue their product upgrade cycle however this last upgrade was nothing spectacular, most phones on the market already had bigger screens and 4g/LTE connection. This wasnt a huge upgrade for apple and knowing that they are now a year away from another upgrade competition is going to be coming quick for apple.
Yeah. I hear you. But how many current iphone users (with their hundreds of locked-in apps are going to move to Android. and vice versa for that matter? The real qustion is how many iphone 4 users will upgrade to iphone 5. I bet almost all. It only costs the user $200. The datafees that subsidize the iphone don't go down if you don't upgrade. AAPL still makes $600/phone. The user gets a new phone and the carrier loses $400 because the user upgraded. The second question is will chinese, indians, malaysians who are entering the smart phone market. What will they buy? That's a wild card.
For all of you that are bullish and insist on buying the dips, how much of this is "recency bias", i.e. anchoring to the recent past? There is no doubt that Apple has done stunningly recently (last few years) but we are talking about the FUTURE..
Kind of like the bull run from March 2003 to 2007, where the S&P never had a correction of over 10%. It seemed like a sure bet to buy those dips in late 2007 and early 2008...
AAPL was a great tool for some giant to manupulate the market, not sure if it continued to be used that way. One thing for sure, fewer and fewer small investor buy or hold it at this price even it can go to $1000, that fact will make it harder to use it as a tool to manipulate the market.
Without QE , DJIA would have been much lower. Every astute investor should understand true nature of QE3. http://thearorareport.com/coaching_seminars/goldqe3/goldqe3.html
