Bought weekly puts on X at open, QQQs long straddle and TLT long straddle midday. Im assuming u were long puts on aapl? Those initial stair step 5min bollinger band pierces w/ consolidation and no RTM along with % outperformance was a clue to go with calls...
There's something to be said for "early trading history" but none of those systems will be relevant when I start winning championships, and, besides that, there is a difference between paper money and live trades. Pairs trading is all those systems were, one variation after the other, and I'm still doing it when it comes to leveraged long swing trades. None of those systems are with the system I'm using for my CTA, but eventually I will get it to a point where it will be trading all derivatives from a continuous contract. I would only point to benchmarks on Covestor, but I'm behind on the P60Dow right now, but I'm pretty sure after the first six months it will be in the black. (Inception was May 24,2011). Trading futures full time was always the priority for my CTA, and what do I have to do, bust out my portfolio simulations with 90+% win percentages? Is backtesting an art rather than science? No, it is an exact science, and if you're not a truly quantitatively gifted person, you're never going to accomplish what I have or even come close to being in the position I am. In my last conversations with Kevin Davey, a winner of a World Cup, he doesn't know any CTA's who could be billionaires.
Meaning you day traded an option and miscalculated theta decay properly after allocating a position size not based on delta?
in and out of front and Dec calls (long) and short puts (calendar) meanwhile legged into SPY Dec124p - was long 124c overnight
....wait, I get that it's bad to overtrade, but what about undertrading? What about overtrading the underlying and undertrading the "overlying"?
Not unless you trade futures, or know what c2 is, or have ever read worldcupadvisor.com where he's identified I think as the 2007 winner, 2005? Can't remember the year, but, yes, if you've ever wanted to be a trader you have to win the World Cup Trading Championships and finish in the top 5.
