Third Party Verification of Performance

Discussion in 'Trading' started by MAVERICK007, Dec 8, 2007.

  1. Is anyone familiar with companies that provide third party verification of performance? If so, which ones would be considered the best. I have heard of TimerTrac and Thetaresearch.

  2. There are at least three different types of verification process:

    1) Third party verifies signals and their results regardless if your actually trading them or not...

Along with tracking the performance for comparison against other traders using their service.

    2) Third party verifies performance of a real trading account and doesn't care about the trade signals used.

    3) Third party verifies performance of a real trading account...

Along with tracking the performance for comparison against other traders using their service.

They really don't care about the trade signals that produced the results

    4) Third party verifies performance in a real trading account and verifies that the results was via a particular trade signal.

    5) Traders themselves maintain their own verification (broker statements, bank statements, tax accountant documentations et cetera.

Not uncommon to see these traders with a tax account that has power of attorney.

You can probably guess from the above which one retail traders tend to use versus what professionals or managed accounts use.

  4. Thanks for the info above. Are there any companies that specifically verify the performance of registered investment advisors?

And has anyone had experience with TimerTrac and how they are as a third party verifier of performance?
