Thinking on rethinking my selling strategy

  1. OK, for the last, 8 years or so, I usually set a a sell point and then unload all of m shares. On average, I now have around 22 stocks ranging from 400 - 1000 shares each. I believe in the old theory pigs get some hogs get none. So, I usually sell all shares when they jump 1.5 - 2 points. Average hold time for the last couple of months was four days per stock. Some as low as two days. Here's the prob. I sold NTGR, PX, AAPL, WFMI, GSH, SJW, VLO all around 1.5 plus points. I then use the money to buy other stocks. However, if you look at these stocks over the last four days, they've all moved an additional two points (give or take). Am I selling to fast? Instead of setting a 1.5 - 2 pts sell order, should I place a stop limit order on the stocks after they've gone up my to my comfort level? As with everything I do, I do things in volume. But, when those slumps hit, I can break even or make a few here or there. Is my plan too conservative?
