I'm thinking of doing some managed futures program. That's what I think it's called. Where someone trades your futures account. Not really sure where to start. Anyone have any recommendation shoot me a pm Thanks
I manage my own funds so I can't recommend any managed funds. But my long term commodity methods that I use, the most consistent equity curve has always been commodity spreads. Overall, in commodity trading, spreading has always offered small slow but consistent build up of equity. All the other ways of trading long term generally have erradic equity curves. The trouble with most funds, they have on/off good/bad years, and you have to just study who loses the least in bad years and seek consistent good years.
IASG, Autumngold, BarclayHedge are good sources. The fund/CTA open to you will to a large degree depend on how much you are investing.
WhiteOUt, are you looking to start a commodity futures pool, where all the money is pooled together - i.e. a Hedge Fund, or are you looking to manage individual accounts and how much money and for how many people are you looking to manage? I have a lot of experience in this area and can help you a great deal.
Please clarify: You want your money to be managed by someone else, or you want to manage other people money?
