  1. Why would anyone be paying $9.99 per trade at Ameritrade if they were an "active" trader. If you are an "active" trader, EVERYTHING'S negotiable.

    I guess you guys are small-time players then. I frequently trade 20-30K shares, so 0.01/share is much worse than 9.99/trade.

    Just do the Math.
    That having been said, the $9.99 per trade is negotiable.

    That was thing about ToS, it was the ultimate for a small fry like me. I deal in single contracts in options. The commish for 1 contract $1.50.

    TD AMERITRADE is like $12.50.

    It looks like trading is going back to the days of $50,000 minimum accounts.

  5. This is very depressing, Thinkorswim had a cult following. I met a lot of people through their chat. According to Tom and Scott the current customers are gonna have their fees grandfathered in. But its never going to be the same.

    Been looking at OptionMonster. Interesting platform and rates less than TOS. Perhaps the stranger the name, the better the platform.:D

    I trust the guys from TOS, and they aren't the Brooks Brothers types either.
