Think of this when you vote.

  1. I'm afraid Ted Stevens is worth about a hundred ranting pastors.

    Give it another try.

  2. This pictures interesting in that, you have to wonder about the source of the physical impulse that brought on the urge for a momentary lack of compusure that this pose demonstrates. What was he thinking or what was going through his mind? Its the sort of expression the class clown makes. Do we want this representing us at any table with world leaders or near the red button? Not far different from the mentality level currently housed in our mansion. Maybe Bobcat Goldwaith could be his
secretary of whatever and they could entertain each other.

  3. Only in your mind dave.

I started this thread for people to think carefully about Obama before they vote; obviously you're not thinking.

We can put a whole laundry list of people that hate America on here that Obama seems to be friends with, but we've covered them in other threads.

The first picture I posted on this thread shows Obama's true patriotism; nothing else needs to be said.

If you say it doesn't matter, then you are wrong! The president needs to show that he loves and respects America.

  4. Why would you say that? McCain and Stevens hate each other. Stevens was king of earmarks and despised McCain's efforts to rein them in.

Obama by contrast enthusiastically lapped up Wright's special brand of marxist hate amerkkka preaching for 20 years until it became too controversial.

  5. Obama was probably expecting someone to set fire to the flag or rip it down and stomp on it. Like his buddy Ayers does.

Maybe a little something else to think about when considering voting for incumbents.

I got this in an email.

Does anybody out there have any memory of the reason given for the establishment of the DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY during the Carter Administration?

Bottom line . . we've spent several hundred billion dollars in support of an agency the reason for which not one person who reads this can remember.

Ready? It was very simple, and at the time everybody thought it very appropriate.

The Department of Energy was instituted 8-04-1977 TO 'LESSEN OUR DEPENDENCE ON FOREIGN OIL'.

    HEY, PRETTY EFFICIENT,.......HUH?

AND NOW IT'S 2008, 31 YEARS LATER, AND THE BUDGET FOR THIS NECESSARY DEPARTMENT IS AT $24.2 BILLION A YEAR, THEY
HAVE 16,000 FEDERAL EMPLOYEES, AND APPROXIMATELY 100,000 CONTRACT EMPLOYEES AND LOOK AT THE JOB THEY HAVE DONE!

THIS IS WHERE YOU SLAP YOUR FOREHEAD AND SAY: 'WHAT WAS I THINKING?'

    Ah yes, good old bureaucracy..........

And now we are going to turn the Banking system over to them?

  7. Yeah, who needs nuclear safety inspectors. We should just wing it because the nuclear energy has proved that it's nothing if not trustworthy.

  8. DOE has not accomplished much of its original mission, but remember most of their budget is for defense (nukes) and over the years both parties gutted its r&d budgets.

From their budget in 2007, 16billion went to nuclear weapons and cleanup of defense dept nuclear facilities.

  9. The US would have been a lot more independent of foreign oil if there hadn't been 12 years of reign by one of the wealthiest oil-producing families.

They were tied closely to the dealers of the drug (Saudi friends of Bush leaving US by private jet on 11/10, hardly any other planes in the air then).

How can you expect to clean a population of an addiction if you choose the biggest dealer as their ruler?

Look closer to the reasons Bush sr. didn't, and Bush jr. did attack Bagdad.
