Nothing wrong with the teaching process. Like leading a horse to water. You can take the horse to water. Cannot force the horse to drink the water. She enjoys seeng the profitable trades but, too lazy and would not exert even a little effort. Take the trading log. She has promised to do it, to this day, will not do it. Read Stan Weinstein's book but, quit after maybe, 20 pages. Promised to finish it. 15 years later, she still has not finished the book. And something is wrong with my teaching process? When you have a student who is hard headed (she is a doctor)---it is mission impossible. She does what she pleases. I told her to follow my trades, as I do not wish to waste more time. Now, she wastes the trades I share with her because she never took the little effort to learn what was being taught to her. At this point, I just let her do as she pleases. I am no longer invested in training her.
How would you define a good trader? How would you define a good teacher? It seems to me you may have succeeded as a trader but failed as a teacher. I'm just giving you a hard time. Hopefully the smiley faces conveyed that. I can appreciate the difficulty those who attemtp to teach trading run up against. I have found that most who want help don't actually want to do any work. Look at our school system where teachers are expected to impart knowledge to a bunch of teenagers who aready know everything.
I gave it 1,000% effort and leave it at that. In the end, she wasted all her chances to be a good trader. She also, picks and chooses which trades she will follow. Most times, she gets the losing trades and misses the good trades. Or exits the trades early and gets a tiny profit. Atleast, my days of teaching trading is over.
