Sorry about that catchy title but I am serious here. Could I ask you how much do you think you can make as a maximum percentage return on a short position? You may have read answers to this question in books which say 100%. But is it really true? So what is the maximum % return you can make shorting equities? And why?
both PS: I am serious in asking the question. You will understand me later. I did not want to start with details/my view first.
100% minus (commission and [margin and / or exchange] fees).Unless you are talking ROI which is an entirely different question. - Spydertrader
Let us assume that commission/etc are zero. Someone did better than you (bonecrusher 200%). Could you do better?
I know, I know. But let us get to the point that people should know/learn about. Apply Picasso's saying "Art is a lie that tells the truth". Let us put commission/fees=zero as a lie, so we can to tell/learn the truth. Are you offering better than 200%? The current winner is Bonecrusher. He would be unseated soon (by himself?), I think.
