You are most likely correct, i had heard numbers that were building, regardless, the point i made is accurate.
So you will take a CUT in your wage in order to acomodate people who dont even live here? Ill give you credit if thats Your stance, cause there isnt a chance in hell i would allow that to happen to me.
My wage isn't threatened by low skill/blue-collar immigrants w/o a post-secondary education. I'll gladly repurpose corporate tax cuts to help migrants too.
I dont want to get to deep about your "background" but i feel like your wage is threatened just as hard as me....... i know its a matter of time till we are both toast. Whether its 5k, or 50k immigrants........... it sure as fuck doesnt help me....
I guess you can make the argument that the more poor people surround you, the harder wages come down. It's easy to fix by moving around. Most immigrant communities in the states have proven resilient and fruitful, so no fear of that in my opinion (LA(most of cali)/Miami/NYC/Houston/Dallas/Austin, etc...) What ends up happening is, the immigrants, being poor, hard working, yet mostly decent folk can only afford the poor slums of the cities. They end up reforming these slums since they're the only ones willing to take the financial/safety risk of living there. Then the poor "creatives" start moving in, you get so called "gentrification", and since everyone wants to be an artist, the rich flood these areas with hopes of being "hip". Real estate developers have known this for generations and love immigrants for it. Also love that they're pretty low maintenance tenants.
Yeah, because that's how it's working out in European countries like Sweden and Germany and France and Belgium. The cops in Sweden can't even go into certain areas of town because of all the "artists" and "gentrification".
