There is no "system"

  1. Most people use science and reasoning to develop a system of operation of the markets.

Glance at the spectrum of "systems" in use by various disciplines. Correlate their "performance" to the spectrum. You will find a direct correlation.

Check the limits of performance along the spectrum.

Quants have a limit and it is reflected in their "deals" for money management contracting.

Quants inflict two flaws into their "systems".

They have the WRONG "DATA CUTOFF ON THE LEFT"

They use data in the contemporary trend which is not allowable.

The corrections for these flaws they maintain is to use logic "gates and kills".

The gates and kills come from the dependent variable and sometimes from the "failsafe" AND independent variable combos. (See Carnap for the logic basis)

Thus, you can now see the role of price in providing "permission" to make measurements in the independent variable.

Mark your performance on the system spectrum. Mark mine as well.

Our separation is caused by how refined the operating systems are with respect to science and reasoning. Each time you further refine your work, you will move closer to my level of performance.

For most scientists, they make use of all information available and they are intelligent enough to avoid NOT using ineligible data.

In the spectrum of systems there are very significant dividing lines. One is the line whereby finite math is used above the divider and is not used below the divider. Quants are below this line. Another line sets off whether the independent and dependent variables are used correctly. Quants are below this line as well.

There are other differentiating lines as well.

AS people iteratively refine their work they climb the spectrum as a frog would climb up out of a well. There comes a time when a person can differentiate among trend types.(four types). There comes a time when a person can differentiate among types of trend turns.(three types).

Your system currently lies below all of these lines. My system lies above all of these lines.

I mentioned that Dave Goodboy has never seen the market. I was responding to a person who misunderstands David's "price drivers" (he uses them to attract those with money who cannot differentiate myths and beliefs from any system of operation of markets.

Often potential traders pay for platforms which they have the power to arrange displays upon. Platforms provide many kinds of tools which make them attractive to potential traders.

You speak of ridding your views of "eye candy". I guess it shows up all by it's self.

The FI follows a lot of CW which platform providers "rent" so that potential traders can design and develop displays to be able to "see" the markets. Further into this perception process, "reading" the market could come into view.

Well before the PC and platforms, there was a CW based "market reading" convention. In my lifetime of trading, this era was longer than the subsequent PC based "reading" era.

fortunately, I did charts by inventing a template during the "tape reading" era. What separated the men from the boys in the "tape reading" era was the knowledge and skills to "throw out" the chaff from the grain.

You have spent time bouncing around and behaving like an apprentice carpenter who is repeating the first year of apprenticeship over and over. Thus you cannot have the experience of even seeing the market or much less reading the market.

FYI this post is like my posts that 777 reads and explains how he lacks any perception due to his lack of inference.

guys like 777 have built their CW inference with thousands of posts. This system of beliefs, myths is fragmented as they explain by their communications. Their minds cannot merge the conscious and the unconscious while they sleep. They will never have the experience of awakening with "new" questions to forward their inference building.

The supreme intellectual experience is "knowing that you know" your brain has taken charge of building a complete and balanced inference in a given field of endeavor. on the opposite pole is the realization that the consequences of failing to merge while sleeping is an irreversible status that cannot be corrected.

What is the huge gift, neurologically speaking, that everyone is given in their youth? Why doesn't the educational system capitalize on this? In the FI the bar is set very low. anyone could be successful since the system is so simple. Sleeping at night is where the slow irreversible death for potential traders occurs.

Sample 777's posts scientifically. he gets the consequences of his decision making, forever.

Youd think that people that think its all random should give up and leave the people that are making good money off trading alone, because its not random, they merely believe its random cause they dont know what they are doing, simple as.

+$160 today, +$250 yesterday doing something that he believes isnt possible lol

Unless youve got a few Mil and can setup an office next to the exchange, that system is a bit out of reach of most of us.

And they say scalping is stupid, thats all hFTs are doing, really small scalps all day long

  10. HFT's doesn't count for this thread, because the subject is trading system. HFT does not have a system, it is based on speed.

For example if I want to buy a DIA option for $1, an HFT is so fast they will see my order, front run me, purchase it for 90cents and sell it to me for a dollar. Essentially they are not taking a large risk because they don't buy until they already have a buyer. HFT can lose money if someone builds a program to trick it. For better understanding, read "Dark Pools".
