we dont know if or what jesus ever said. jesus,if he existed, never wrote anything down and the earliest fragments of copies of the nt bible that we have are 150 years after the fact. Sometimes Christian apologists say there are only three options to who Jesus was: a liar, a lunatic or the Lord. But there is a fourth option: legend. (Bart Ehrman American New Testament scholar)
church = business this explains why churches are hit by lightning all the time. p.s. I have to stop here. That's enough blasphemy for one day. --Shortie Zeus out
i recommend this book for you: Forged - Writing in the Name of God--Why the Bible's Authors Are Not Who We Think They Are Book Cover Description -- âWe may never know what drove these people . . .to hide their own identity and to claim, deceitfully, that they were someone else. Their readers, had they known, would probably have called them liars and condemned what they did. But in their own eyes, their conscience may have been free from blame, and their motives may have been as pure as the driven snow. They had a truth to convey, and they were happy to lie in order to proclaim it.ââfrom Forged It is often said, even by critical scholars who should know better, that âwriting in the name of anotherâ was widely accepted in antiquity. But New York Times bestselling author Bart D. Ehrman dares to call it what it was: literary forgery, a practice that was as scandalous then as it is today. In Forged, Ehrmanâs fresh and original research takes readers back to the ancient world, where forgeries were used as weapons by unknown authors to fend off attacks to their faith and establish their church. So, if many of the books in the Bible were not in fact written by Jesusâs inner circleâbut by writers living decades later, with differing agendas in rival communitiesâwhat does that do to the authority of Scripture? Ehrman investigates ancient sources to: ⢠Reveal which New Testament books were outright forgeries. ⢠Explain how widely forgery was practiced by early Christian writersâand how strongly it was condemned in the ancient world as fraudulent and illicit. ⢠Expose the deception in the history of the Christian religion. Ehrmanâs fascinating story of fraud and deceit is essential reading for anyone interested in the truth about the Bible and the dubious origins of Christianityâs sacred texts. http://www.bartdehrman.com/ http://www.amazon.com/Forged-Writin...iewpoints=1&sortBy=bySubmissionDateDescending
Nothing new about the idea that the books in the bible may have been written by somebody else. I took a bible as lit class in 10th grade, in public school.. We went over the Q source... and when reviewing the new testament we discussed that matthew mark and luke were probably from the same original source --- likely oral before it was recorded. So the idea that this was done by individuals committing forgery is a bit of a stretch.
Gambling is being between black and white, good and bad,god and devil, friend and enemy...Not worth the time,i`m free of that.
You are gambling that you are correct and you don't have to concern yourself with being good or being bad or having failth because you will not go to either heaven or hell. Now, that's a gamble.
Maybe i`m gambling,but..How do you know that 'good' IS the good and 'bad' IS the bad.?Why can`t it be otherwise? This is the never ending story and its elements replace each other all your life, and all your life you keep staying in doubt, and will.I won`t believe that the very holiest person on the Earth belives without a doubt.Even Jesus,if he ever exists,is said, had doubts. I do not deny the existent religions,i just want to be free, staying neutral first and then above of it.
