no, we can't do both now. furthermore, if you want the support of those of us fiscal conservatives, you have to first show that you (not you, but the spendthrifts in govt.) can spend responsibly. then we'll come to the party with agreeing to higher taxes. otherwise, you have the fight we're in. i'll rephrase so it's clear - you can get most of those who are in the "so called rich bracket" to pay more taxes once you show fiscal discipline. just coming after us without cutting anything will only get you a fight. so post all the analogies you want, but that's the fact.
Absolutely it does. We have smart folks tearing down other smart folks on the left and the right. Obama, is Bush lite, who was Reagan lite. You do not see this?
U do know this argument of spending is purely academic, don't you? We are well past the event horizon. This plane is going to land hard, what we need to do is prepare emergency crews for survivors, if any. But we have the GOP and the dems throwing stones at each other about which way the runway is going to go. This plane will not see the runway! It is frustating to see that Americans are still partisan while our nation is at stake, the barbarians are at the gate!
Not yet. But we will be if this is allowed to continue. This is a spending problem, not a revenue problem, despite libtarded obfuscations to the contrary. http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&postid=3121837#post3121837
Are you just completely insane ? YOU ARE IGNORANT of basic accounting priciples. To balance budget your income must be equal to your spending . That simple. It has nothing to do with the gap between diferent income levels you fucking commie.
Shouldn't pay any attention to Gabby... He/she is either (1) ignorant and anti-social, or (2) getting his jollies by needling others. His expressed opinions are no more valuable than a sharp pebble in your shoe.
During the Bush years sixty minutes had the head of the GAO on. He said we are technically bankrupt, this was in like, 2006 or 2007. To save us will require some rather draconian cuts. No one in government has the testicular fortitude to do what must be done. Everything must be looked at, and brought into line. The GOP will say cut education, the dems will say cut defense. From what I see, no one will really do anything. No wonder, they have no real skin in the game. If the things imploded tomorrow, most of our Congress would be in Aruba, watching CNN(if youre a dem) or Fox(if youre a pub) record it all. Until the people really and truly see whats up, forget about righting this ship.
i didnt say anything about bush or obama. i'm not tearing anyone down. i stay out of the arguments between the hatfields and mccoys and just focus on the issue. dont include me in your generality.
an academic discussion is always worth having, even when it cannot affect the immediate future. to learn from mistakes is how we evolve. but yes, we are past the event horizon. i prepare every day for the crash. do you?
We had a higher debt to GDP ratio after WWII and dug our way out of that. But it won't happen by allowing Obama's parabolic deficit spending to continue, nor will it happen by making the United States even more of a welfare state than it already is.
