It's different now. We had a manufacturing based economy. Do you know what they call the heartland now? Flyover country. That's sick. We are a service economy now, we export entertainment. Back then our value system and work ethic was totally different. Further, we had just defeated a formidable foe, as the German war machine is to be respected, we actually should have lost WWII. Were it not for Hitler being a nutbird, things might have been quite different. Who will we galvanize against to fight today, Al Quaida? Really?
So? That doesn't mean we're in an impossible situation... unless of course we stay on our current path of out-of-control spending and increasing government dependency. Which will only accelerate our declining value system and work ethic.
Aliens of course. There are a few of em on this website. Me and a few others are the only ones spared. The thing about service economy I agree with. Aliens don't do piecework, they mostly talk on the phone, network, consult and move paper around. They're sort of support staff for people who actually make things that sit on skids and shelves for a time. Alot of them minored in "communications"you know, the experts that you see interviewed that tell us what we already know.
