I'm sure many ET members including the Covidiots have been to the hospital at least once in their lifetime or have had surgery, been in the delivery room of their child or had a family member that had that experience at a hospital...all prior to the Pandemic. They must have wondered why Doctors & Nurses wore a medical face mask, especially during surgery or the birth of their child !!! It's to minimize (not 100% prevention) the risk of infecting a patient with bacteria or a virus that could result in a life-threatening infection. It would be a multi-million dollar lawsuit (expense) to that hospital if a patient were to die from a Doctor or Nurse infecting the patient. I've been to the hospital multiple times in my life prior to the Covid pandemic...as a youth (Myocarditis) and as an adult (military, birth of my children, deadly virus, surgery on an optic nerve, and knee surgery)... although the optic nerve surgery and knee surgery (slap shot hockey puck injury) occurred early in the Pandemic. Each and every time...the Doctors and nurses wore face masks just as worn by anyone else for many decades since the 1918 Influenza Pandemic. Unfortunately, during the Covid Pandemic...too many people wore their own face masks (custom-made), wore a handkerchief around their face when they were out in public, or they did not wear one at home when they were exposed to an infected family member/friend to later then complain that face masks do not work. Thus, they still were infected. The COVID-19 pandemic exposed to depth of unhealthy habits in the global population and the weaponization of social media against public safety for just about anything not related to the Pandemic. Also, I lived in Asia for several years. Face-masking is a normal way of life long before the Pandemic because of the pollution problem. It's not 100% worn by everyone but there have been many studies over several decades in Asia that show face-wearing minimizes illnesses and diseases caused by Pollution. Yet, it's funny to see people in the winter in Canada, France, or the United States on a very cold winter day...there's no hesitation to wrap a scarf around their face when outdoors to protect their face from cold air... It's funny to see the same people attack face mask wearing especially the ones I know that have been in the hospital or experienced the birth of their child...they did not have any issues then about face mask wearing nor any outcries of "invasion of my freedom". Sadly, we still have not learned to politicize a health crisis...the results are more deadly than countries that did not politicize a health crisis. The guy below (not an idiot) in the image understands that Asbestos removal requires covering up the three key portals into his body (eyes, nose/mouth, and ears). Simply, wearing a face-mask around something that's deadly...it's just one piece of the puzzle. Personally, I wore face-masks & goggles during the Covid Pandemic when out in public...never at home. I did it for many reasons, once was hospitalized with a deadly infection (almost died in 2016) and experienced living in Asia for a few years. Thus, I let the Covidiots increase their risks while I do what it takes to minimize my risks especially when I'm also protecting my family members. Those students should be grateful they were not required to wear face-masks, goggles, ear protection, and to wash their hands for a few weeks. I'm willing to bet the below guy didn't have any problems wearing a face-mask in the Covid Pandemic. People do not need to have a medical degree nor do you need to be a rocket scientist. If there's an outbreak of a virus in your community, at the minimum, wear a damn face-mask especially at a University because we all know that Parents will sue the daylights out of a University if their college student develops a simple cough. Also, the University is not asking students to stay in the dorms for remote learning during the 2 weeks of mask-wearing when indoors in other campus buildings. Students are very smart...they'll hang out outside (not indoors) to avoid the face-mask wear requirement for the few weeks until the outbreak has passed while the real idiots go on social media to continue weaponizing the spread of Covid. wrbtrader
Marxist? Me? I'm from old money through three grandparents and I made my fortune trading. The only connection I have to Marx is he wrote his doctoral thesis on Epicurious and I like to eat. Binary thinking, perfect solution fallacy. N95 masks are very effective, surgical masks help prevent people who are infected spreading droplets but mostly they gave relief by hiding your face which was more than worth it. Plenty of young people got sick, a friend of my daughter was 23 and she still has no sense of smell which is not an insignificant loss. Even if it's just prevention of face touching, cloth masks are helpful though if I was running things n95 and battery power n95 would have been the standard. Speaking of no sense, the main explination from neuroscience for why we have Wildchild and Bull1Shit2s is they have a hyper-active amygdala combined with some prefrontal cortex damage. So essentially ET is like a trap for some people with certain types of brain damage. The virus is just trying to life it's best life in whatever meat lumps are hospitable. This includes a percentage of young people.
So Wildchild nailed the trend at the beginning. Now more and more democrats are demanding masking up. How many more children have to suffer because of these people? https://www.city-journal.org/article/no-masks-please-were-rational Unfazed by data, scientific research, or common sense, the maskaholics are back. In response to an uptick in Covid cases, they’ve begun reinstating mask mandates. So far, it’s just a few places—a college in Atlanta, a Hollywood studio, two hospitals in Syracuse—but the mainstream media and their favorite “experts” are working hard to scare the rest of us into masking up yet again. Never mind that at least 97 percent of Americans have Covid antibodies in their blood as a result of infection, vaccination, or both. Never mind that actual experts—the ones who studied the scientific literature before 2020 and drew up plans for a pandemic—advised against masking the public. Never mind that their advice has been further bolstered during the pandemic by randomized clinical trials and rigorous observational studies failing to find an effect of masks and mask mandates. Scientific evidence cannot overcome the maskaholics’ faith. It’s tempting to compare them with the villagers in Cambodia who erected scarecrows in front of their huts to ward off the coronavirus—but that’s not fair to the villagers. Their Ting Mong, as the magic scarecrows are called, at least didn’t hurt any of their neighbors. The mask mandates imposed harms on the public that were well known before Covid, which was why occupational-safety regulations limited workers’ mask usage. Dozens of studies had demonstrated “Mask-Induced Exhaustion Syndrome,” whose symptoms include an increase of carbon dioxide in the blood, difficulty breathing, dizziness, drowsiness, headache, and diminished ability to concentrate and think. It was no surprise during the pandemic when adverse effects of masks were reported in a study of health-care workers in New York City. More than 70 percent of the workers said that prolonged mask-wearing gave them headaches, and nearly a quarter blamed it for “impaired cognition.”
So wildchild is referring to himself in the third person. Looks like you're afflicted. Tell us, is your hair turning "strawberry blond" and your face orange? Those are the telltale signs.
Well the democrats are going it again. I suspect they are going to push new voting laws with minimum oversite for the 2024 election. Mask Mandates Return With COVID-19 hospitalizations steadily inching up in the U.S. this summer, some hospitals, schools and businesses are reinstating mask mandates. Two new COVID-19 variants—EG.5 and BA.2.86—have recently emerged. The World Health Organization (WHO) classified the former as a "variant of interest" earlier in August, but reported that its risk to global public health is low. The latter variant has only been reported in the U.S., the U.K., Denmark, South Africa and Israel as of August 23, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
