I love how you think that you know better than the medical professionals. You think its so easy to just lock the old people up, throw away the key, and assume others won't give it to them? I think you will have your wish soon though of being able to see how this would all turn out. It seems like Trump is itching to let everyone in the US run wild and free, so perhaps you will get a glimpse of what happens without lockdowns. How do you explain what's happening in NY though? Their healthcare system seems to be bursting at the seams with no end in sight. Do you really want this to happen to your city?
Lastly, you're being extremely selfish. You can only see what this is doing to your daily quality of life. There are many young people who rely on healthcare. Its not just the old. And I'm sure even you know a few old people that you care for. Its a shame that you don't want to make some sacrifices in order to protect them.
Medical professionals, aren't running the show, the media is, by scaring the public into scaring into forcing the government to do stupid shit, do I know more than the nasty media yes!!! The old will be locked away from 18months, while the rates zig up and down, rather than 12weeks if they'd of shown some balls a lot will die in there homes alone, sounds great. Very 1 dimensional here, focused on 1 issue, not the over all picture. People need to be able to work and make money to pay bills, support there kids, loads of friends are know unemployeed as they don't get sick pay there home with kids and got nothing cause they relied on a weekly basic income, yes they can claim but barely worth anything and it'll take 3months to come through, 2million homes in the UK just realised there screwed. A lot of businesses will fail. Unemployment rate after this handled this way is going to be forecasted at @30%, poverty huge. They could of handled it better, but snowflakes forced there hand, been over in 6months with very little distribution to anyone, much less suicides, much less supply issues. Trump is trying to let the virus burn through in 1 go and get it over with, to minimize disrubtions, sadly like in the UK the fearful public that don't want to catch ( snowflake young ) don't want to catch it cause they think it'll kill them, it won't, will force his hand. Well done snowflake, you've fucked all of us. We all have to catch it to be immune, I've already had it, for 99.6% of us, like a bad flu, not an issue thankfully. but media lies and you won't understand the maths.
The writing was already on the wall for a long time. This rally wasn't sustainable, and honestly, modern economic life isn't either. Western countries all consume much more than they produce. All that this virus did was bring all these issues to the forefront in a very fast way. I mean come on. You have instagram sluts making 500k per year just to post some bullshit picture with their tits hanging out, holding some bullshit product in their hand that nobody needs. The crash was coming, but nobody knew it was gonna be Covid that precipitated the fall.
It's screwing up things, more than just a market crash and it's pretty much world wide, although not all countries are screwing it up and themselves as badly.
When you see what is happening in Italy, and your own country isn't that bad yet, you have to ask yourself, do we really want this in our country in 2 weeks? The message was loud and clear from many sources. If you didn't want that kind of health scare, then you need to lock down. I think the fact that some countries were able to do this is a miracle. If every country was hit at once, it would have been a huge problem. South Korea seems to have managed it well. But without the shutdowns, I have no doubt that Italy would have repeated many times over in other parts of the world.
Imagine this in your hometown. There was another video where the operating rooms were not set up as an ICU because the actual ICU was overflowing. Now imagine your wife is pregnant and due to deliver in 2 weeks. Do you think she will get the quality of care necessary? Imagine you need to get your appendix out, but your surgery is put on hold, so you're getting poisoned from the inside. One minute the Covid-19 isn't affecting you directly, but then you start to realize that perhaps someone you know is going to suffer as a direct by-product of not controlling the spread.
As was last Wednesday with todays 70+ 12week plan was ideal and the NHS would of managed it, got it all out of the way in 6months, no job losses, no other issue, much less suicides. The snowflake young where so scared they where going to die, they where screaming for lockdown when people went to the beach, there stupid and easily led by the media, which is the real enemy here. It's about balance we've went max save the old and max screw everyone else over, ironically that'll hurt the snowflakes which have jobs the most, yep both of them, just remembered they claim and don't work, so for them no change
Trade off, we've chosen health care which was poor in the UK anyway in exchange for pushing everyone into poverty and all the issues ie suicide which come with that. More people in the UK will die from suicide than the virus. I never said don't control, just don't Zig Zag it, UP - Lockdown - down - unlock - up - lockdown, original plan was perfect, bullied into stupid plan, should of locked up old 2weeks back mind, to ease the NHS stress we have currently.
There is no way to control it if you have people mingling. Don't you get it? By the time you feel like you have some symptoms, you've already passed it to a bunch of people. Then you all go rushing for testing at the same time, and some might even need a hospital visit. When you see a spike in cases, even if you lock down at that point, the spike gets worse because over the next week, more cases appear, even if everyone is already locked down because all of those cases started from a week or two ago. The point is, you can't act once you see it spreading, by then, its too late. All you can do is lock down now, and hope in two weeks you don't have a crisis.
