Elizabeth Holmes and her lover Sunny Bulwani need to rot in jail for a long time. Highly recommend reading, Bad Blood by John Carreyrou...it will blow your mind.

I don't think it is a good idea to eliminate morality from ones life. That can lead to trouble. I see several posters here that may have forgotten about morality.

The parallels with Tesla are maybe not very obvious, because Tesla makes working products, nevertheless they are there. Let's say Theranos did have a working analyzing machine but 1 blood test's cost would have been 10K dollars? Although that is a technical break through but practically it is still prohibitive to make those machines unless the cost can be brought significantly lower.

Just like making expensive EVs for the rich is a nice technical achievement, but until they have a mass market cheap car, Tesla won't save humanity either. And in the main time they are running out of investors' money. And the lies, accounting trick and general BS are getting old...

NO, Theranos did NOT have a working machine. The "working" machine, from Edison to the cluster-fuck successor, took roughly five drops of blood and DILUTED said blood to run the bogus tests. Imagine running a HCT test on diluted blood?!

Except that Elon actually co-built a little company called PayPal that nearly 20 years later is still the dominant player in its field. That's an accomplishment that neither Holmes or any of the armchair quarterbacks here on ET have under their belt.

Nobody mentioned Paypal or the Boring Company so why bring it up? I am sure he had successful school projects too. The parallel was with Tesla, but if you want it, we can throw in Solar City too as it was not really what it was advertised. (it was more of a mortgage company than a solar panel installer one...)

By the way did you know that Madoff had originally a couple of profitable years with real trades?

Calm now, not worth getting worked up about. Someone was saying he and Holmes were the same. I'm simply pointing out that PayPal is a pretty damn good accomplishment against her none. And against the rest of us truth be told.

Not sure what it is about the guy that pushes your buttons but you lose your otherwise rational and good natured mind at the mention of his name!

True, thought I'd dare say his X.com was not match to Thiel's Confinity, which is the model that was finally adopted.

The guy's smart, I've never said otherwise....I just don't consider him a genius. And I've got a stick up my butt about cultist personalities.

I often wonder how far the likes of Jobs would have gotten w/o the church around him.
