Are you intentionally missing the point? Is that a badge of honor for you? The very point of science is to disprove theories. That's what scientific testing is all about. If you can't disprove it, then you're on to something. The very point of theism is to dismiss skepticism and critical thinking, and THAT is where zealotry kicks in.

You should make a conscious effort to refrain from publicly embarrassing yourself.

You missed the observable, repeatable part of the definition.

That is not using the same logic. Where do you possibly get that idea from ? There is no theory of God that corresponds with scientific theory. Proof without certainty is scientific theory. Certainty without proof is God theory (as if it even makes theory)
And it’s simply desperate to suggest atheism is a religion.

  5. I'm not defending theism. I'm pointing out that you "men of science" have theories and are trying to pass them off as facts. Actually, that's not quite right. You are not men of science, you're atheists. Big difference. You hi-jack science and attempt to manipualte it to suit your belief system, just like the religous whack jobs do.

You're right. I am not a "man of science." I just appreciate and thank the men and women of science for their continued contribution to this world. (Most of whom are atheists, as it happens.)

If a theory is falsifiable and has not been disproven despite repeated testing, then how does it differ from fact for all intents and purposes and from an operational standpoint? Theories that have yet to be disproven are, in one way or another, behind every scientific innovation and breakthrough that you can think of and upon which you rely in your modern day-to-day life. What are the practical alternatives to these as-yet-unfalsified scientific theories?

  7. Why do you keep dancing around it? Is your theory of creation a fact or not? You keep acting as if it is. It's not! You simply cannot admit there may be alternatives answers to the question of creation. Answers which may not fit any current model being explored. Is the question of creation still yet to be determined, or is it settled science? Simple enough question.

You don't seem to understand. A theory can never be a fact; it is something that explains WHY something else happens. There will ALWAYS be a hypothetical scenario (no matter how outlandish) that, if true, would disprove the theory.

Scientific theories don't graduate to become anything else. The highest level of assuredness you can attain in science is a theory.

A theory of creation based upon fact and scientific verifiable evidence cannot sensibly be compared alongside religious alternatives which have no basis in reality or any evidence whatsoever, verifiable or not.
The question of creation will only ever be rationally determined through scientific proofs, scientific theory and scientific fact, just as everything else inevitably is. There is nothing else capable of doing it. Never has been.

  10. Then there is no such thing as atheism in science. If you can't be sure, you're all agnostics. Religion preaches certainty, hence athesim is a religion.
