You are greatly exaggerating. There are many more worrisome threats to the bill of rights than the health care bill. What about the "patriot" act. Shouldn't you be more concerned about THAT!

If the bill is unconstitutional, and it isn't, don't you think the insurance industry will use their billions to get the courts to overturn it?

  2. At what point, when the Executive/Executive Branch has gained ENOUGH power, do we call it a DICTATORSHIP?? (Obama is already behaving like one.)

    Not yet? That's where we're headed.. :( :(

The Founding Fathers established 3 branches of government SPECIFICALLY TO PREVENT THIS!!

Absolutely the Patriot Act is a massive threat to the bill of rights. This thread is about the health care bill. It's one more bill that erodes the rights insured by the constitution.

"Stop throwing the Constitution in my face," Bush screamed back. "It's just a goddamned piece of paper!"

This is what you're up against. The government is supposed to be of the people, by the people, for the people. This isn't the case anymore. It's an inner circle working against the people. The US government is becoming more intrusive and oppressive than the government the Revolutionary War was faught to escape from.

Your boy Obama seems to be getting into a little bit of trouble.

sure the time is now right for another set of happy family photos of him, his wife and 2 kids to take the heat away from what really matters.

Perhaps they can all be shot fooling around in the Fall leaves throwing leaves up in the air. All smiley-happy.

    Wouldn't that be sweet.

  5. So it's morally unjustifiable as a leading industrialized nation to not have health so we must go with any health care bill that has been proposed by the leading party or else the dissenters are pro murder and greedy republican bastards? Okay then, carry on.

What is the magician doing meeting with SEIU people so many times while we watch the power grab called health care reform?
This guy is really slick and gets away with it with almost all the press on his side. Sleight of hand is sleight of hand and should be relegated to the entertainment venue not government.

  7. So the government FORCING people to buy something, and paying a fine if they don't, is constitutional?

    Please show us where...

  8. Seems you don't know the difference between an investment and insurance.

FYI: As of yet no one forces you to have health insurance, maybe you should self insure to avoid getting ripped off in the future.

Yes, it is quite constitutional. As just one of thousands of examples of the government forcing you to buy something and fining you if you don't I'll mention liability insurance; nearly all states require it and fine you if you're caught driving without it!

The US Constitution takes precedence over State constitutions so if these laws were unconstitutional, and they are obviously not, they would be challenged in the court and the court would overturn them. Why don't you challenge these laws yourself if you are so convinced they are unconstitutional?

There are literally thousands of other examples. Some people have tried not paying the part of their taxes that goes for military expenses. If you do that, the government will not only fine you, but if you persist, they will throw you in jail.

I think you have confused a majority rule, representative government -- a republic -- with anarchy. You need to find a country without a government so that you can live as you please without having to pay for anything you don't want to pay for. The U.S. is not the country for you.:D

  10. That a good example? Nobody forces you to drive and there are alternatives.

Driving is not a right but rather a privilege... and it has conditions.
