Your post above is an example of the fantasy world you live in. Oh... the entire f@cking country of Australia hit 2000 daily cases. What a shame. Many freaking counties in the U.S. with much lower populations that the entire f@cking country of Australia (with 25.7 Million) have been having more daily cases than this for months. While you are at it tell us how the number of Covid deaths per capita is doing in Australia compared to the U.S. Keep in mind the U.S has over 1500 Covid deaths per day. Australia hit what? -- 70 in a week. Do the math and get back to us with why Australia's Covid policies have not been effective.
Population: Factor 12.8x United States: 331,449,281 Australia: 25,874,400 Covid deaths: Factor 530.1x United States: 700,285 Australia: 1,321 Sometimes its good to see in black and white the benefit of sacrificing a little freedom has had on our Australian community. My post has data from Johns Hopkins. Now you are attacking Johns Hopkins? In the meantime, you post articles from CNN. You are a joke.
Why don’t you post the data on cases and deaths for Australia and U.S. on a per capita basis and get back to us. Australia is one of the best performing nations on the face of the earth in regards to a proper public health response to Covid. I will also note that Australia has had fewer days with lockdowns or restrictions than most western nations including the United State over the past two years.
You really need to understand how proper public health policies work. Get back to the five points of proper health policy I outlined early in the pandemic. Lockdowns only work when they are combined with full contact tracing, strict quarantines of the infected, full travel restrictions with 14 day incoming quarantines and widespread testing of those who may have been exposed. Unless a country performs all the steps of proper public health policy then lockdowns alone will not suffice. The U.S. under Trump was a classic example of a country that failed completely when facing a novel virus.
You don't know shit. You have been wrong since day 1. You are the king of copy/paste and put ZERO thought into any your post. Its not impressive. You lack reasoning skills.
Yet you have put forward nothing but Covid-denier conspiracy nonsense taken off of social media. Once again --- since I have explained it multiple times before -- let's outline the purpose of lockdowns to get it clearly on the record. The immediate purpose of lockdowns when facing a deadly novel virus pandemic are: To stop your hospital facilities from being overwhelmed with the sick. To give you time to prepare other emergency measures which allow you to exit the lockdown. The other emergency measures (as I have outlined many times in the past) include: Establishing a large-scale testing regime for the virus on a nationwide basis. Establishing nation-wide contract-tracing capability which can trace every single case. Defining and enforcing the rules on the infected or possibly infected (until negative tests prove otherwise). Establishing a national incoming (and outgoing) travel policy which includes a 14 day quarantine (or some appropriate period) for all incoming travelers with testing along with the protocols for handling them. There should also be travel restrictions for non-citizens or residents which are coming from highly infected locations. All of this is coupled with how the nation will continue to allow food distribution and other vital services during lockdowns and restrictions. Effectively defining who are the essential workers. After the lockdown -- there should be restrictions which are slowly loosened over time. However if the disease spikes up locally in a region then that area should revert to more strict restrictions until the disease level drops. The United States failed to do any of the above effectively -- despite talk (and apps) about contact tracing it was never effectively established. Testing floundered everywhere. No universal consistent policies were defined for quarantine or travel aligned with proper public health policy. Overall the response in the U.S. was a disaster. Fortunately we now have vaccines which are the path out of the pandemic. The bad news is due to politically motivated anti-vaxxers the U.S. will not hit the 90% level (with Delta) needed for herd immunity. This means (unless there is a change) that Covid will be with us for a lengthy period and life will not get back to normal. All due to anti-vaxxers.
