Get yourself a nice Reserve Cabernet from Napa Valley. Probably will run you $60+ a bottle but that's what you're looking for it sounds like.
The future (and present) is twist off. Its better technology that wasn't around when corking was introduced. Traditionalists still prefer the cork but studies show that twist off's actually are better for preserving wine, or so they say.
