SouthAmerica: I wonder why the US government and the US mainstream media still are referring to the US$ 700 billion dollar bailout of Wall Street as “TARP” when a more accurate terminology for them to use on that case should be “Heist” or “Swindle.”

The thread with the discussion about the US government US$ 700 billion bailout of Wall Street was moved from the Economics forum to the Chit Chat forum where people post jokes.

I understand the reasoning that the moderator of these forums was following when he decided to move that thread from economics to Jokes since today the only thing we can do is classify the US economy and its future just as a big Joke and nothing else.

Here is our discussion about the Wall Street bailout with the jokes - and you have the choice of laughing about how the American economic system got in such a massive mess almost overnight or you can cry if you are smart enough to realize what is in store for the future for the US economy – in that case the situation is a real tragedy.

Here is the discussion about the Tarp or Heist or Swindle they are interchangeable words in this case:

Anyway, in 2009 when the Perfect Storm will hit the US economy head on - starting in January 2009 the United States will have a new mindset and will be moving in a new direction and on uncharted waters.

I wish all the members of this forum a Happy Holiday Season, and a Happy Kwanzaa.
