Hi Geiseb_hd, I agree with some things that you are saying, like if one can not trade ym profitably, switching to dax will not help. However, if someone wants to trade dax, there is nothing wrong with it, it is just like any other contract has its + and -. A lot of screen time needs to be spend to be able to trade successfully any contract. Regards, redduke
RedDuke...it is great to see someone fixed on the DAX...I think it is great also...really like it...may I ask...how do you trade it?...meaning, from this time to this time from the USA etc.?...how many average DAX trades per day and how many DAX contracts per trade?...what is your average trade holding time?
I trade intra day with high frequency, first few hours after cash opens. My trades could last from few seconds (these are usually losers) to few minutes. Sometimes it could be 10 or more minutes, but these are rare since they would mean big moves in one direction. Regards, redduke
I do mainly swing on the Dax and I have read most of this thread. But when it comes back and moves within a range , I am looking to do small moves with greater frequency of trade. I very much doubt if anyone can meaningfully scrape the Dax [ yes it's scraping and not scalping ], as the comms and intra quote volatility will kill you . That's been my observation anyway but i am open minded.
The comms are cheaper then ES, and tick value is higher then ES, so I don't see comms being an issue for scrapers? The killing volatility, well - just got to know the tricks. *wink*
Current volatility is great for intra day traders. The only issue is the market sometimes moves so fast that I do not have even a second to react and click a button. I have learned a while back that chasing can be very costly.
But it is still requires you to make 1 tic , so it is still an issue. Swing volatility is easy , re-read what I said . *wink*
