The firm notes that it previously downgraded Mosaic on concerns related to potential margin deterioration within its phosphate segment, but that these concerns have now passed. Canaccord believes that the phosphate market has bottomed and expects to see modest price increases moving through the spring planting season. While the firm did not adjust earnings estimates for Mosaic, it did boost the stock's multiple given the "belief that the phosphate market has bottomed and that the northern hemisphereâs spring season for fertilizers will be better than previously anticipated."
