The guy has been written off too many times, and as we now know, he eats chicken with a fork and knife. He needs the rope. Not my type, but very happy if we can get someone to DC to raise some hell. They so deserve it.
Seriously? Perhaps you should google the terms "sarcasm" and "hyperbole." I realize the hard left has no sense of humor, but sometimes even if you don't get a joke, it's better to laugh along rather than look like an idiot. Trump didn't act like he was joking. He was being put on the spot and he held his ground. Repeatedly and with several different journalists. His various surrogates were all trying to justify his comment with no trace of humor. You really think that was a masterfully orchestrated joke with multiple deadpan surrogates giving noteworthy performances, without a single crack in the edifice giving it away? Or do you think maybe his daughter kicked him in the nuts and told him to walk it back?
FF, you are actually a smart guy so I will be more nuanced. Trump's statement was not literally true, at least as far as we know. He was making what is called a figurative point, namely that Obama's actions had the effect of founding ISIS. It's not like plenty of people at the time didn't warn him that overturning Libya and creating a failed state, leaving Iraq precipitously and fomenting an insurgency in syria would not set the stage for some rogue group to flourish. As is common with many disasters created by liberal democrats, we are left to ponder if Obama's manifest failure was the result of simple incompetency or was more intentional. For example, we know that the Saudi's and Qatari's, both big financial supporters of the Clintons, funded ISIS as a sunni counterweight to Iran. We know that Obama retains an unseemly affection for islam as well, so he may well have been overly receptive to their plans for a sunni militia to counter hezhbollah and other iranian surrogates. Obama is not shy about taking credit for things that happened on his watch, even when he opposed them, like record domestic energy production or job growth. So I think it's fair to give him credit for ISIS, which surely would not have arisen if he had followed different policies.
He was given the opportunity to confirm that, multiple times, and he did not, he reiterated. Neither did his tone of voice indicate any sarcasm, just the opposite. You're full of crap.
No, there is no nuance to be had here: As an informed person, upon hearing this you probably said, "Oh, well Trump just means that by pulling out of Iraq, Obama helped create a situation which enabled ISIS to evolve out of a pre-existing radical terrorist group. He's not literally saying Obama founded the group, just that his decisions eventually led to their rise." But you'd be wrong, because conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt tried to give Trump that out, and Trump declined to take it. "I know what you meant. You meant that he created the vacuum, he lost the peace," Hewitt said when he had Trump on his show Thursday. "No, I meant he's the founder of ISIS. I do," Trump responded. "But he's not sympathetic to them. He hates them. He's trying to kill them," Hewitt replied. "I don't care," said Trump. "He was the founder." http://www.theweek.com/articles/642393/donald-trump-knows-exactly-what-hes-doing And although he blames Obama for ISIS, Trump called for the immediate and complete withdrawal from Iraq in 2007. Was that nuance, too?
Bush 'created' terrorists, but Obama didn't 'found isis'. Yeah, we all get it, alright. Anyone with a brain gets it.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...for-why-he-said-president-obama-founded-isis/ "There was no "Right, I was making a point" or "I misspoke" in that. Trump said that, no, he really meant that Obama had founded the Islamic State and that Trump had to "disagree" when Hewitt said that wasn't the case."
Mentally Unbalanced Man Still Waiting For The Right Trump Comment To Incite Him HARRISBURG, PA—Explaining that the candidate’s recent inflammatory statements had further stoked his uncontrollable fury but hadn’t quite pushed him over the edge, local resident and mentally unhinged man fortuneteller told reporters Friday he is still waiting for the exact right comment from Trump that will incite him to action. “Donald Trump has definitely said a lot of things that have reinforced my paranoid worldview, but I still haven’t heard that one key phrase that I know will really set me off,” said the psychologically disturbed 45-year-old, who noted that Trump’s remarks over the past 12 months, while increasingly vitriolic and incendiary, have not yet been worded in such a way that speaks directly to his delusional beliefs and spurs him to act on his manic, deep-seated rage. “It might not be tomorrow, or next week, or maybe not even until the debates, but sooner or later Trump is going to utter a perfectly phrased comment that provokes a major reaction from me. It could be a statement comparing all refugees to the 9/11 hijackers, or one that describes liberal judges as enemies of the Constitution bent on removing all our freedoms—regardless, I have complete confidence that between now and Election Day, something he says will just click and set me on an irreversible course of action.” The deeply troubled individual added that if Trump were to ever direct a bitter comment toward women who use Planned Parenthood services, that might be just the ticket.
