Was 32.5 - Freak day. I'm up 10 points today Might take 40D's advice and stop early and enjoy the day. It's really hot! This time of the year in England! Amazing. Even though we don't get much sun, when we do get it, I prefer it to any other countries weather. When I go to America and Spain and Portugal, it just feels like a different kind of heat. I adore the English sun. I'd like to live in the US, but if we could get more of this type of weather, I'd happily stay here. Besides, I have a job interview tomorrow, and I'm a very anxious person and am woeful in job interviews (mind goes blank, have trouble 'selling myself' etc). It's on my mind and i'm nervous thinking about messing it up, and so probably best to sit out until it's over and my mind is clear again!
Terms which, imo, are in need of precise definition if one is going to build a trading plan around them: "noise," and "full benefit." Given that we primarily rely upon charts to demonstrate what is meant, it would be helpful if an annotated chart marking "noise" and "full benefit" accompanied the definitions.
Hitting the bottle a bit early today, marketsurfer? I'm short NQ, btw, 5 point hard stop, but won't need 5 points to tell me to close out and re-think things a bit. I'd like to have the opportunity to take a few off at 5.25, but so far not yet. EDIT: Traded to 5.50, now at 6.50, and I'm looking at 7.50 as the level I'll be watching as gauge as to whether I stay short, get flat, or get long. Hard stop is now BE + 2 ticks. Ooops, just filled on 5.25's, and I'm looking for some more at 4402. Putting hard stop at 8.75 EDIT: Hard stop 7.25. This is starting to look as though it is shaping up into a possible long opportunity rather than remaining a viable short. If stopped at 7.25 I'll probably wait 'til the bell to do anything else. Current price is 5.75 @ 8:45:36 EDIT: I flattened at 6.25 - this looks more like a long launch than a short at the moment. Doesn't mean I'm right, just cautious.
It's called an "insert". Also referred to as an "explosion". An experienced journalist would know that.
Here is how I scribbled things up. BTW, this chart is populated with data from Rithmic. If this does not suit Marketsurfer, I can also provide charts using Interactivebrokers or CQG.
Particularly if they would help identify these points and levels ahead of time, or even in real time. If a trading opportunity knocks on the door and no one is around to open the door, does it make a sound?
