The Trouble With Scribbles

This chart was recently posted by one of the students showing 4 possible trades based off of SLA analysis. No attention was paid here to the overall trend on the larger time frame, for if it had been, there wouldn't be 4 possibles. But the main problem here is that possible stop out areas are not notated. By the way, an indicator system monitored in real time would show the correct oscillation and continued or reversed direction. --Much easier to do and more accurate than scribbles. Every method must lay at it's foundation a strong money/risk management plan. Without that, the plan is left to flounder and blow up.

    Again:

Since you're so well-versed on the ins and outs of the SLA/AMT: under what conditions does the trader stop trading entirely?

As the scribblers are nourished and watered, their population grows. They are soon everywhere and, out of control, have taken nearly available space on the ship. Yet, they continue to be nourished and watered with no plan for management.

As strange as it may sound, this tells me quite a bit about the situation. Tarzan in the making I must be.

Reading back through ET history, it would seem a number of the good ones have done just that.

My understanding of the price action beneath those words is that it is not different in kind from what others might call a "stop run" or what Victor Sperandeo calls a "2B" test. Invoking the dog simply gives one a better sense of the behavior that underlies the opportunity, assuming one is familiar with the work of Arthur Conan Doyle. Although the what signals the opportunity is not the dog barking. It is his silence that tells us what to do.
