Here's busy mortgaging his house to buy the bottom(s) for the last 3 week. It just gets better and better prices... hehe
Everyone wants to jump on the bashing bandwagon. yet there is SO MUCH CONFUSION! flamers, get your torches ready!
mas·och·ism n. 1. The deriving of sexual gratification, or the tendency to derive sexual gratification, from being physically or emotionally abused. 2. The deriving of pleasure, or the tendency to derive pleasure, from being humiliated or mistreated, either by another or by oneself. 3. A willingness or tendency to subject oneself to unpleasant or trying experiences.
C'mon Guys! Lundy has stated over and over again that his time frame is weeks/months. Yet every day people deride his views "because his call didn't turn out". Well his call is bullish but it also has a time component. Reminds me of Taleb's new book. He mentions that when he is asked whether he is bullish or bearish, he doesn't know how to answer and thinks it really is a silly question. Why? Because someone may answer bullish but without knowing that they are bullish for the next day, or next week, etc. you are really not getting any significant information. I also happen to believe that we are setting up for some sort of bottom. I really don't want to go into the whole gamot of indicators that lead me to this conclusion because that's not important at all. The topic here is bashing/laughing at lundy and I don't think that's right. If you want to make fun of him, then also make fun of Dave Landry, and Price Headley (just two I can think of right now). Both of whom have turned more and more bullish and called for a bottom. As candle reminds us, we are brethren. Let us not act or behave towards one another as anything but.
I just want Lundy to tell us what month these options expire in...If this is truly a long term trade then I would imagine he has some calls that expire in either August or September...If not his calls have probably already bled to death if they were the front month of July...
Babak I agree that the venom is unnecessary, but I also think Lundy is happily egging 'em on. He loves it, u know he does....
Just wanted to point out that Lundy's chart suggests that he "doubled down" three times. I wonder if that means he has 8 times his initial stake on the line? 1 Intial position 1 First Double Down 2 Second Double Down 4 Third Double Down -- 8 Total at risk
Maybe he has Leaps. That seems to be a good strategy since the market will recover in the next year or so! Ed
No personal derision of Lundy, his postings have brought out the normal amount of fun and finger pointing when someone makes such statements (as the thread indicates)....but nothing more. As far as laughing at Landry and Headley is concerned....well, why not. All this technical work makes people a little crazy anyway. The market will do what it wants, regardless of what the "charts" say, or what the "prognosticators" say. Sometimes they're right, sometimes they're wrong...no big deal. You'll not see too many active traders (who are making consistent money) picking longer term direction with such fervor...and why should they? Enjoy the volatility, enjoy the "news related" upswings and dives...don't get bogged down with personalities or the silliness of picking directions. We will have the "day of the Lundy" at some point (or week, or month)...until then, trade-em! Don
