watch out Freud... LOL! what a pack of morons! Negative? ME??? Sorry guys, I can say with all honesty that that simply COULD NOT BE FURTHER FROM THE TRUTH. (although it was once true..) dotslashidiot, since you asked...yeah, i was beaten as a child (if you think that somehow makes me a worse human being, than you are sadder than all of us..) and since i'm at it, i was a street kid too, and lived on the wrong side of the tracks for a LONG time. (you learn a thing or two, believe me) i'm 25 now, and a few years ago, a key life changing event occurred (i got living shit kicked out of me and left for dead, and it was my fault). from that day buddy i have never looked back! do u realise how tough it is to go from a mindless nobody to achieving something worthwile? the trials and tribulations, the endless bouts of selfdoubt you face?? could a person with a negative disposition do such a thing?? NO FREAKN WAY!! I submit that you are simply blind to the nature of the game you play! Don't you realise that, as traders, we're all competing for the same buck? That is very different to most other pursuits in life. Eg, when i was a sales team leader i had a vested interest in seeing everyone in my team do well. and do well they did. my team lead the division in sales every month. trading is totally different ball game, it's every man for himself. having said that, sure, it feels good to help out someone sometimes...if i feel they deserve it (and arent' just sitting around and waiting for handouts).
Well Mike I did not say that I respected what he said, just that I respected that he said it without much reflection on how it would be taken by the rest of his trading bretheren... The man may be a dick with a twisted way of deriving pleasure but at least he is a genuine dick And I respect a genuine dick more than I respect an artificial saint! Publias EDIT; Just for the record Daniel I was not implying that I thought you were a dick, just that others may have had that perception of you and that at least it was genuine
you're free to say whatever you want, but if you create a thread for yourself called, "the trend is up, market has bottomed" during a bear market, you should expect a lot of criticism.
was that directed to me? cos if was, i totally agree. You know, i wasn't the one that went on the attack here. I make one comment, share how I feel, and I get analysed as a negative, sadistic asshole! (and I'm sure that after the fight was over, each gladiator thought, "man, i'm glad it was him and not me..)
Lundy - just a reminder that this is a free Internet board where people write words anonymously. Don't attach more significance to it than is necessary, and I wouldn't let anything posted here effect you personally. JMHO.
You are in way over your head. What was the term for that? Speak for yourself, please. All the traders I know do not have the time or the inclination to derive gratification from (much less to watch) someone lose money.
Okay. I may be wrong. I'll restate my comment then. I personally derive a sense of pleasure (not a "great deal" of, but some) when I hear about someone losing a lot of money. Eg, if the next Niederhoffer came on the news tonight and it was stated that he lost his net worth, yeah, that'd get a smile and a giggle out of me. You people have read WAY TOO MUCH into this. The "pleasure" is momentary, a smile, a laugh, and that's it! Forgotten! What'd you think, something like that made the year worth living for me???
