The Trade War Hits China Where It Hurts

Discussion in 'Wall St. News' started by ironchef, Aug 12, 2019.

  1. Lol, free markets? And why do we need to adhere and worship free markets? Did you realize where it has brought the US with free markets? The US is not a country but a bunch of incredibly wealthy that number in the dozens. The rest is a rat infested shit hole, highways broken, bridges broken, trains broken, horrific air travel, low educational standards, low literacy, high crimes. And I just named the first few issues at the top of my head. Free markets made a few incredibly rich and everyone else poor by any comparison with other highly developed countries and their citizens. Stick free markets up your arse. What the US needs is an awakening where the masses force decision makers to turn free markets into a well regulated social market economy. That has been proven to work. Same with the ridiculous war on drugs. It has failed. Period. Send people to Portugal to learn. Goodness. Free markets.please don't make me laugh.

It is amazing how folks are flocking by the thousands to get in to the USA. Are they flocking to whatever country you from?

  4. They would if immigration hurdles would be as low as currently in the US. My country does not bestow birth right citizenship nor does it give any advantage to those who already have families in my country. And if those economic migrants were close to the country I am from there would be plenty more attempting to immigrate. You are seemingly not aware of the actual reasons of those migrations. I am not from HK by the way and was not referring to HK. By the way my country has taken in more true asylum seekers than your country in absolute numbers and particularly relative to the size of citizens. Before you make those blanket statements you should actually know first before you speak.

Back to the topic at hand: free markets enrich a few and make the masses poorer. I trade US markets and European and Asian markets. Has nothing to do with free markets whatsoever. Most markets that implement social market economic paradigms have freely tradable assets and exchanges. A social market economy has nothing to do with socialism or communism. If you disagree then you are not educated on the definition of a social market economy. It is a system where individuals can't abuse loopholes at the expense of everyone else in order to enrich themselves and put the rest into sheckles.a social market economy rewards those who work hard and are innovative. But it puts limits at how far it can go. A social market economy puts a heavier burden on those who benefit the most and that cost is then shared with the less fortunate. It still affords an incredibly privileged livestyle to those who made it while acknowledging that not everyone else had the same equal opportunities even if everyone else tried equally hard.

People are flocking to the US because they can live on the government dole, somehow. They want their free money.

Um...not sure about that. Some do. As do some born in USA. Many others are hard workers unlike many USA born young people.

  7. Not sure what your point is and what you are referencing. We are talking about free markets here and tariffs and China by the way, not immigration. Shall we get back on topic?

Wait till 25% tariffs on ALL Chinese products and have the sense not to buy Chinese products! The same products are made by other Asian countries at better quality! I would rather pay a few bucks for the same product at far better quality. I buy Made in the US where available! The fastest way to end this trade war is to inflict maximum pain on the Chinese. They promised to buy farm products but, NEVER did! How can you trust anyone who does not live up to their promises? That is why you need a written agreement with teeth! Notice how the Chinese keep saying tariffs have to be lifted first on the Chinese products? China is hurting. Only idiots mouthing off nonsense cannot figure it out! What is happening right now? US businesses are closing manufacturing in China and moving to Vietnam, Thailand, India, etc. But, but, they are not going back to the US! Sure, Bucky but, that is not the point of the tariffs. Tariffs are there as a cudgel to make China do the right thing. To sign a fair trade deal. If not, the whole Chinese economy is destroyed and they have no monies to fund the expansion and modernization of the People's Liberation Army who is threatening the smaller Asian countries around it and the US navy as well! So, sign a fair trade deal that benefits both countries or de-couple from the US economy. Either way, the US wins! That is the genius of President Donald Trump. Those who do not understand simple economics, nobody can help you!
