Hey, there's always a chance someone could get impaled on the javelin event. That would make for good teevee. Like watching NHRA drag racing. We like the competitiveness, we follow the names, but we want to see a car blow up.

The Australian athletes leave their rooms with holes in the wall and vomit all over the place. Quite the mess in Tokyo.

‘Pretty easy to do’: AOC will take no action against athletes who left hole in room wall

Australian chef de mission Ian Chesterman has confirmed the men’s rugby and rowing teams left a hole in the wall in the athletes accommodation, but believed it was “pretty easy to do”.

After the two Australian teams had to apologise to the Australian Olympic Committee amid reports cleaners had to mop up vomit and rooms had been left in an unacceptable state, Chesterman confirmed on Tuesday that a hole had also been left in the wall of one of the rooms.

FIFA women rankings rarely get it wrong but they've been off in their last ranking going into Tokyo Olympics. :sneaky:

Yeah, Covid is a big issue but the Sweden team had more training together and more competition as a team in comparison to Canada going into the Tokyo Olympics.

On top of that, Sweden has been the better statistical performing team in the Tokyo Olympics.

Sweden clearly has an edge over Canada...a lot different than the United States team that was playing poorly going into their match against Canada who rightfully jumped on the weak links in the American team.

They play the games for a reason. I'm not going to be surprised if Canada wins a tight battle. They don't give up many goals ( Japan scored on their back up goalie's huge mistake; England scored on a random deflection ). It wouldn't be the first time the best defensive team won a soccer match.

If Canada pulls off the upset...I will go down as one of the biggest Canadian upsets in Olympic History for Canada.

Canada has waited a long time for a championship match and I'm glad that Sinclair with play in one prior to her own retirement.

Exaggerate much ? Canada won bronze the last two Olympics. They aren't just some team that lucked into the final never to be seen again. And this is the most talented squad they've ever had despite Sinclair being late in her career.

While Canada definitely has a very talented team... Based on the recent performance of the two teams in the Olympics Sweden is the way to bet in the final.

And it will be decided on the pitch by players who know they are quite capable of winning this game on both sides. And it's soccer. Most of the games involving the real contenders were decided by a goal ( or penalty kicks ).
