Your “evidence” is a single line mentioning IOC corruption in a lengthy article about cities not stepping forward to host the Olympics due to finances and risk. LOL
As a 4th generation Army veteran (all officers) and the mother of my children is a West Point graduate... We do not have enough of these types of soldiers competing in the Tokyo Olympic games. At the 2016 Rio Olympics...Sam Kendricks (Army reservist 2nd Lieutenant) stopped in the middle of his pole vault to go to "attention" as the National Anthem was playing for another American in another Olympic event. He eventually settle for a bronze medal at the Rio Olympic games. In the 2020 (21) Tokyo Olympic games...unfortunately, he has tested positive for Covid and is out of the Olympics. He's currently a 1st Lieutenant and he's the reigning world champion. He now has to watch the Olympic games from quarantine in a hotel. We have more soldiers competing at the Tokyo Olympic Games. Hopefully, none of them will test positive for Covid and then be forced to watch the Olympic games from a quarantined hotel. https://www.defense.gov/Explore/New...y-athletes-to-represent-us-at-tokyo-olympics/ wrbtrader
Noted gymnasts Charlie Kirk and Piers Morgan call Simone Biles a selfish sociopathic shame to the country. Charlie Kirk, Piers Morgan slam Simone Biles as a "selfish sociopath" and "shame to the country" Right-wing media pundits rush to minimize an Olympic gold medalist and her mental health concerns https://www.salon.com/2021/07/28/ch...hes-a-selfish-sociopath-shame-to-the-country/https://www.salon.com/2021/07/28/ch...hes-a-selfish-sociopath-shame-to-the-country/
Seems like those two anti-vaxxine dickheads (one a Trumper and has a mouth full of Tucker Carlson genitals) don't understand how dangerous it is to be doing those types of gymnastic routines when a person is not mentally focused and dealing with ligament problems in one of their ankles...on the biggest stage of their athletic career. I once watched a gymnast almost kill herself (Gomez) on impact although she was paralyzed in which her teammates admitted later that Gomez told them that she was "mentally not there" before her routine and had thought about pulling out of the competition. In other sports, if you're not mentally focused, you get scored on, you drop a pass, get intercepted, miss an easy jumpshot, miss an easy layup, miss the net on a penalty kick... Gymnastics is not one of those sports. By the way, Gomez eventually died in the hospital at a later date from infection from her paralyzing injuries. Elite athletes know their bodies and mental state better than anyone. It takes a special person to know when to shut it down but its probably much easier to do after already a lot of awards / medals / championships before the Olympic games. Think about it...if Tom Brady were to make it to another Super Bowl and immediately throws 2 interception and then walks over to the coach...tells him to put in the backup quarterback because Tom's mental game isn't there... Nobody will fault the GOAT...he made the right decision. wrbtrader
At first glance I was unhappy with her sudden withdrawal, but wanted to learn more details before commenting because it just seemed so odd for the GOAT of female gymnasts to just bail out. Seems she was suffering from a not all that uncommon condition where a gymnast just loses all sense of orientation mid air. Almost a complete blackout. I think it's called "twisting" or something like that. It's so disconcerting that many say it takes a few weeks to get it out of your head once it happens. Hopefully she'll be back as good as ever, but she made the right move for herself and for fellow gymnasts down the road who can now feel comfortable to make such a decision
I agree it was better that she withdraw then perform like crap and sink the team scores. It is no different than a ball player going out when he feels his hamstring tighten and pop and knows he cannot run at max speed anymore and needs to come out. It is called twisties or something.. Love seeing all the pussies on social media call her a coward and traitor for what she did...like they even understand the sport. If she continued and was lame in each vault or the floor, the team is out of medal contention. I don't doubt there is a little bit of racism because of some of the comments I have read but I would like to think those are the few minor idiots.
Every day the list of Olympic athletes forced out of the games for testing positive grows -- including medal contenders. At some point the race for the podium is based on who can avoid COVID. American pole vaulter Sam Kendricks out of Olympics after testing positive for Covid https://www.aol.com/sports/american-pole-vaulter-sam-kendricks-034338466.html American pole vaulter Sam Kendricks, a medal favorite here and the two-time reigning world champion, will not be able to compete at the Games after testing positive for COVID. Kendricks' father and coach, Scott, posted and then deleted an announcement on Instagram, but a short time later the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee confirmed the unfortunate news. "We are saddened to confirm that Sam Kendricks tested positive for COVID-19 and will not compete in the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020," the USOPC tweeted. "In alignment with local rules and protocols, he has been transferred to a hotel to be placed in isolation and is being supported by the USATF and USOPC staff. "Sam is an incredible and accomplished member of Team USA and his presence will be missed. Out of respect for his privacy, we cannot provide more information at this time." The entire Australian athletics team of 63 athletes was placed in lockdown in their hotel rooms as a precaution after fellow polevaulter Kurtis Marschall had close contact with Kendricks, according to The Sydney Morning Herald. Hours later they were cleared, according to the Australian Olympic Committee. The Rio Games bronze medalist, Kendricks came into Tokyo as one of the favorites, one of three men to post a 5.92 meter (19 feet, 5 inches) clearance this year, the second-best height in the world this year. The 2017 and 2019 World Championships gold medalist, Kendricks is one of the most beloved vaulters in the world, among athletes from other countries, men and women. He was a two-time NCAA champion at Ole Miss. He is also the current American record holder at 6.06m (19-10.5), which makes him the fourth-best ever in the event. (More at above url)
