@murray t turtle said, the smarter you are the longer it takes. Rocket scientists are smart? Arn't they?
probably because the market keeps giving false signals.if you are smart but not market savvy you see this and take it at face value. these 'false signals' are noise but it is very difficult to recognise them as such.
Useless at best, theirs nothing magical about Bollinger bands, no matter what these news outlets say, example: Forbes. If you remove the top band and the lower band what do you get? your left with twenty minute moving average. Maybe the real super hero is the guy who invented the moving average? Either way the bands don't bring anything new to the table.
i do not want to insult your hypotheses, but there is nothing magical about anything. but i do agree with the gist of what you say it is all based on price and if you cannot figure it out with price alone ,it is sheer stupidity to try and figure it out with a derivative of price. and still many people are enamored with these because it supposedly saves them from having to figure it out. easy way out sells improbable solutions with high benefits sells. fraud sells
"Not seeing the forest for the trees is the problem". I think your putting way to much thought in this.
Price is always important, you need to know where your entry is and you need to know where your profit or loss will be.
