This day ends with a loss of 2.50 points or $125. Not much to update. Flipped a few trades in the AH session. But then stayed out most of the day until the last hour of the session. I just couldn't drag my old frail ass out of the bed. Anyway, I must have got up on the wrong side of the bed. As I began trading, I intuitively felt the market was poised to reverse. But once I entered, which was too soon, I got chopped into pieces. When it finally reversed, I again flipped too soon. This only reinforces the old axiom that the first one to make the plunge usually drowns first. On a side note, I am holding 1 short position overnight with 2 lots. My doc quietly said that overtrading can be lethal at my tender age. It's like masturbation to the frail. Gotta keep in check, else...
First a minor shoutout: Due to health reasons, I'm forced to stop this journal prematurely. As you might have guessed, I've been complaining about my health lately and it's becoming increasingly difficult for me to daytrade actively. Thus I am compelled to curtail my trading activities to absolute minimum. Since markets are volatile enough, I plan on swing trading, holding on for 3-5 days. Having that said, I wasn't so lucky with the recent position. Got stopped out. Stopped out for -23 x 3 = -69 points = $(3,450) But, thankfully, made a tidy profit on /CL trade for 184 ticks or $1,840. Today's P/L: -$3,450 + $1,840 = $ (1,610) It's okay. I'll get it back.
I am sorry to hear you are not well, a bit of a coincidence, as I was just talking about such matters on other thread. Anyway, you have my apologies if I offended you in any way, as RN rightly said, no need for such foolish behaviour. I see you are averaging on the ES, that is not a good idea in my opinion, as futures can catch you out very quickly if you are not following real close, as I know only too well. Do you use the booktrader with TWS, or a similar ladder to trade ES, or do you use charts only? J_S
