The T-Notes futures confused me

Discussion in 'Index Futures' started by ADX_trader, Oct 21, 2002.

  1. Is the size of T-Notes (ZN) $50,000 or $100,000?
There are two T-Notes, one is the outcry and one is the ACE. Are they the same size? Do they have the same min. fluctuation? ZN is the ACE, isn't it? Can I trade the outcry through IB?

    Thanks!

ZN is 100k, and outcry and ACE are the same size and same fluctuation. Yes, ZN is ACE.

No, you can't trade outcry through IB.

  3. also notice the price is in fraction of 32th, and not decimal, i.e. 1/10.
    e.g : 112'09.0 is 112 + 9/32
    1 tick = 0.5/32 = 15.62$

    e.g. 112'31.0 + 1 tick = 112'31.5 + 1 tick = 113'00.0

    Cheers!! :)

ACE is doing about 3 times the non spreading volume of the pit.

I am interested in trading the electronic versions of the bonds or notes at the CBOT. Does anyone have experience with these contracts? How is the liquidity? What are the symbols of the most active contracts?

    Thanks,

I have traded them for years. Liquidity is excellent for both contracts, but the notes trade in 1/2 ticks with more size.

December is the front month, so bonds: ZBZ02 notes: ZNZ02

  7. The liquidity of the ZN is good, but I feel that the volume dies donw in early afternoon.
I day trade the ZN while following the ES.

    Cheers!!:)
