"Surf just missed the optimal timing of entry (2/13 - 14)... Also, he's trading a different timeframe. Now that said... do you get it??? Give Brother Surf some space. "-

???? Do I get what? Wowowow- defensive, aren't we? Relax- I give everybody whatever space they want- was just asking how he arrived at his conclusion. Am not critisizing his call- I actually wished him well if you notice. And am wishing you well too if you mortgaged the house and are long. I don't care, I enter after I see a trend has started, up or down.

Also, I am not using Gann (at least not the angle stuff) for analysis, just asking...

  2. Bro.. you're being "defensive". Ever hear of projection? :D

Nothing anyone says can harm you... be cool

    It's all good.

Let me add the (probably interpreted as passive agressive) comment that I wish YOU the best as well, in case you are long. And in case you are short.

    Youre right, It's all good...

  4. hi vienna,

thanks for the post and nice to see you here. my projection and subsequent trade of same derives from a cumulation of factors: cyclical, technical and fundamental. what i see here is so compelling, it has caused me to forgo my normal index system and trade in a big way accepting the drawdown. i have waited for 12 years for this exact situation to occur in all three price drivers/reflectors. everything is in line, now all it will take is patience and the ability to withstand the current drawdown. as wd gann (elite member) points out, exact timing is extremely difficult for these longer time frame trades .

    waiting,

am long and short... strangled to death in March, with some May upside paper, and April downside to boot... my "will Spring ever reach the Midwest, or will Winter persist" trade

    :D

I in turn wish you the bestl... and offer my "trader love" brother Viennna... and all others on this thread.

    bonne chance...

I think it's good to be long in a long time frame. I've seen WDGann's charts with the angles and etc.. It seems like you both are right being long from looking at an Ex-Gann traders perspective.

Surf, You should ask Gann for his charts to see where his angles are pitched!! It seems like he's nailing the bottom.

Glad you are full of energy and guts!

I studied the mechanical courses of Gann somewhat, and I liked the way he entered his "long pull" trades: when he saw a sign of a trend, he bought 1 "unit", when he saw it confirmed, he added another unit and so on until he had his full position- this took him weeks or months sometimes. That might be an alternative way to enter once you see your "12 year signal" of big trend change without going out with the full risk initially. If this really is a major trend change, it will give you plenty of chances to add to your stake.

    Just a thought...

best regards, and I hope you are right! I know another very successfull Gann Trader and he also identified a major bottom "in the first semester" of 2003.
