Hey surf, you do you incorporate adv/dec volume in your studies?

I'm seeing some interesting patterns with it, but it's just the tip of the iceberg.

  2. hey JJ,

im very familiar with adv/dec volume but do not use it. prefering to look at individual issue volatility levels within the index. what are you seeing? im very interested to hear your thoughts. thanks, surf

  3. Just that tracking it provdes an obvious footprint of where the market is going and what the market is doing on an intra-day level.

How this translates to your type of trading, I'm not sure.

Is it 100%, nope, nothing is. You can make all of the entries you want, to pan out they require volatility and range expansion, as you mentioned.

    Just talking trading.

  4. We interrupt this program to bring you the promised Rub Report:

A first in marketannasurferland with no runaways! The cassidy belt, dividers, muffins, econometrics and neckies, all had a great 1119 hit in marketannasurferland. With two new bracelets, a chocolate kiss and chocolate soap :), it is time to recoup and get ready for another surfilicious week ahead.

  8. we got chopped a bit on the lower break today, took losses and are presently flat within the channel. 12507--12393( cash ) still appears valid and will be mechanically traded untill profits captured or proven invalid.

    regards, surf

    Hello surf,

You may not know me, but I have been reading your journal since 2002...

I don't know much about your system but I do know that you are a big fan of Glenn's elliott wave book and you have modified a little to create your own system.

Just curious about your thoughts on Euro? I am subscribing to Elliott wave and according to Prechter, Euro is supposed to go down. But the Economic data gives me a contrary picture (like today's housing market data which pushed the euro to the upside).

How would you make a decision? I have too many indicators, too many charts, too much of research and finally i am unable to make a decision. I think that I am just gambling and not trading. Any ways, at what point do you make a decision as to whether it is trading or simply gambling?

If you follow the Euro, would like to know your thoughts/analysis. Would like to see how your brain works. Thanks in advance.

  10. Our esteemed moderator, Magna, is threatening to move The Surf Report to chit chat, due to posts that he deems irrelevant to trading on the report.

The Surf Report, one of the longest running journals on elitetrader, is also one of the best read threads in elite's history. I believe, that as long as posts do not violate elite trader's rules, or they are not requested to be removed by the journal author, they should stay. This is trading and entertainment provided by myself, readers and friends. To be threatened to banishment in chit chat is beyond the pale-- after the years of contributions, education, and entertainment provided by The Surf Report. Personal driven censorship, such as this, can not be tolerated.

    Regards,

    surf
