thanks everyone for the advice. i am trying exercise and eating less first, if that does not work, i'l try some more drastic measures per your suggestions. so far, i have been healthy--thankfully--now its time to align my body with my mind and lose this excess poundage. thanks for the encouragement. as far as trading, so far this year, its been tough. nothing worse than starting out the year with a drawdown. i am continuing to hold GOOG and DIA short here into tuesday. looking to enter the dollar and oil soon. stay tuned. best wishes, surfer

Before I reply to riskarbs egregiously mean-spirited reply, let's start with facts: Japanese suffer far less from obesity than Euros, have far lower risk of heart attack or stroke, resist disease far better--numerous studies show markedly higher recovery rates from various diseases--and have far higher life expectancy. Riskarb's choosing Sweden as representative of Euros' life expectancy shows his desperation: what is Sweden's population, like 5MM? I'm sure--if I looked very hard--I could find some remote, tiny Japanese village somewhere with life expectancy of 88. And, a 3 year difference between Germans and Japanese--given populations of over 100 millions--necessarily means the difference is significant. That 100 million Japanese living on average 3 years longer than 100 million Germans is due to chance is more than 100's of millions to 1. Mean-spirited posts aside, my point is clear: my ease and success in living healthfully doesn't mean anyone can live healthfully. For me, shunning alcohol is easy, as I don't crave alcohol. Telling an Irishman or an Indian to stop drinking, just because I don't drink, shows ignorance. Heroin addicts shooting up is to me unimaginable, incomprehensible, and unthinkable. Clearly, though, addicts have reasons. Shunning alcohol, dairy, fat is for me very easy; for a Euro, the same would be difficult and painful.
I mention Sweden due to two factors; they lead EUR and I am of Swedish ancestry, maternal and paternal. I clearly stated two of the EUR G-8 countries and their LE. I don't deny the fact that Japan leads LE and that it's a function of the Japanese diet; predominately high EFA[eicosapentaenoic acid] fish sources. The incidence of heart disease and cancer is highly correlated to the excellent Japanese diet. It shows that you can lead the developed-World in tobacco use[Japan] and still lead a long life due to dietary-factors. But it does contribute to growth-inhibition, and the Japanese begin smoking at a young age. Would you consider nearly half of an adult population using tobacco a society NOT prone to addiction? Looks pretty conclusive to me. "The anti-smoking hysteria has not arrived in Japan yet, and smoking is still relatively popular. The smoking rate among adult men is almost 50%"
i ran across this little stock today--- SNFX--supposedly have some kind of "bomb sniffing" technology. i am long here from 3.20--- will see what happens. stay tuned for next DJIA channel levels as soon as they emerge. best, surfer
5MM isn't a statistically-valid sample? When you mention "tiny" japanese village... are you referring to Tokyo or Osaka? FYI, the pop of Sweden exceeds 9MM. I am sure there are "small and remote" Russian villages with average LEs of >90. It's not relevant. OK, this isn't even remotely a challenge and it is indeed cluttering a trading journal. My last post on the subject.
SNFX I'll buy it if it reaches $3.70 with a high volume Daily candle attached to it. Seems like a long wait is due unless you know something the rest of us don't ....
yeah, this is definately a risky venture.... strict position sizing relative to account size is a must! surf
