  1. Surf,

Cut out ALL carbs for one month (It's only hard the first week).

Then slowly reintrouduce them one at time but only in half portions to what you used to eat.

    Lots of water
Exercise 2 x per day for 20 mins.
EAT as HEALTHY as you can and avoid eating out as much as possible.

This will work IF you can do it.

  2. Not eating carbs after 5pm everday is a good compromise that seems to help as well.

  3. Whoa! No carbs for a whole month? That only leaves protein and fat. Too much protein is hard on the liver and kidneys, and too much fat is hard on longevity. I realize it is only for a month, but...why? Why not simple moderation which limits carbs to the essential complex variety? And exercise, of course. Crash programs usually result in, well, crashes.

What the heck has happened to simple, healthy living? I think that the lose-weight-fast programs are the nutritional equivalent of get-rich-quick schemes, with similar long-term results.

  4. S. Beach and long-CKD-diets simply won't work for 80% of the population.

A typical cyclical ketogenic diet would involve no carb sources for 5d with a carb-load in weekends -- you're in ketosis for 5d. Problem is, ppl assume they can eat ANY carbs that cross their plate. You must keep the glycemic index low on carb-loading; lentils, beans, legumes in general. Cool Ranch Doritos don't work. No white flour bread/pasta allowed.

Your TSH will drop on a CKD diet, so cardio is extremely important to boost metabolism.

FWIW, I think CKD diets are for sh*t... but good motivation to eat-smart once you see some results. I agree with T-Dog.

Simple calorie-reduction coupled with aerobic exercise is the best lifestyle fix.

  5. I think the short GOOG diet will probably work wonders. Surf must have dropped at least 10 pounds in the past week in water weight alone.

by the way not being an options trader normally.

Any one have any idea how much premium is supposed to get sucked out of my 490 call, over night.

I use IB. so in other words what greek would I be looking at.

    I know its not delta.

    thanks.

By the way these options are sort of fun. I already bought one more lower on the pull back and flipped it out. Both times in between the spread very quckly on smart order.

  8. My bodyfat is 3%, and I never workout: only diet matters. I eat pasta about 5X/week and serve it al dente. Thus, Adkins is wrong. I eat almost no refined sugar, no trans fat, no flour, no dairy. Instead, I eat daily leafy greens, Alaskan salmon, oatmeal, pasta, soy nuts, peanuts, whey protein powder. My diet's the best: simple, healthful, cheap.

  9. 3%? Did you have that measured with calipers or the more accurate water test? Regardless, 3% is rather extreme. I read somewhere that the body needs a certain amount of body fat, without which it can be traumatized. I'm only guessing, but I would think that 3% may be in or near that danger zone. Even so, I envy your metabolism. Presently, I'm somewhere in the vicinity of 10%, and my personal best was approximately 7% in the early 90s (measured via caliper). However, at 47, it seems to be a bit more challenging to maintain than it once was. On the plus side, I'm jollier than I used to be.

EDIT: I just checked this site:

Assuming you're a guy, you are at the minimum benchmark.

  10. You need to quote implied vol on IB. You'll get your greeks under portfolio analytics. Vega and delta are much greater mag than theta on your call.

The stock is up >1%, so theta is relatively meaningless today. Practically-speaking, there is no theta on days when IV rises 4 handles and you're earning on deltas, provided you're not trading Jans. I would consider offseting or selling some premium to scalp this rise in vols from 40-45%.
