I just found this thread and I am impressed with your posts and I would like to thank you for sharing your gifts and knowledge with other traders. I am just trying how to best use and learn (I read the posts back thru to January) from your many years of experience. I would like to grasp your take on how you use these indicators both to follow along and maybe put some twists on myself (You mentioned that you are trying some different things out yourself) which I would then share with this thread. You say that you are using bollinger bands are they the standard 20 sma and upper band +2 std deviation and lower band -2 std deviation? You show on your charts a upper and lower neogann lines and sometimes there is a line in between those. What is that line? How are the lines plotted? Do you use some software to plot those lines or are they a proprietary formula that you use? bobdec
thanks for the kind words. i'll do my best to answer your questions--- yes, i use bolinger's standard formula for the bands. my neo gann channel lines are derived from a proprietary formula and method of reading a "gann wheel". sometimes the line in between is simply the target square on chart--its nothing to do with anything, just forgot to delete it. my time frame i base the channel on is normally 5 minutes over multiple days--i sometimes need to reduce the chart size to post it here so i make it 60 minutes thereby causing several channel lines to show up---this is also why you may see a line or two in between the channel. best wishes, surfer
A Challenge! This site just keeps getting better and has become part of my nightly routine.Top priority of course is to pick your spot for trading, but it becomes fun to formulate a technically based filter that backtests better ,days offset ,a cool challenge.Bring your board Dude.
we are long and very strong here on monday morning. the DJIA is flirting with the first level of resistance mentioned earlier at this time. holding longs. surfer
Hey surf dude. I just took a quick 10pt scalp on the Dow and now I'm waiting for a quick scalp short back toward the 15min support channel. The funny thing is that sometimes these short signals turn into longs when the short trigger is not hit. But ..........you just take whatever waves come. T-REX
