greetings, we entered longs when the upper channel figure of 9027 was violated in the DJIA. when the index started dropping back down, i sold 1/2 of the position at 9043 and held the other 1/2 with a stop at break even. this stop was not hit so i am holding longs overnight. as you can see, i am experimenting with different exit strategies instead of the all or none techniques of my past. the stops tomorrow are at 8993 in the DJIA, and we will add to the longs should the upmove continue. if stopped out at 8993, back to trading the channel. all the best ! surfer
we closed longs at the stops level today of 8993. this volatility is to be expected at critical 9000 level. the channel has changed to 9003-- 8927. short below, long above and FLAT in the middle. let's see if we can catch the next WAVE ! surf on
word up ! hi, after making several attempts at the 9003 level to go long and being stopped out via tight trailing stops. at aprox 2"15 pm est , we entered long and are holding overnight. LONG and STRONG, surfer
Surf the market is going your way ... why keep the stops so tight. Had you stayed with the original position wouldn't you still be making good money?
oh yeah ! the system caught a very very nice upwave and we are surfing high at this time. holding all longs here and now. long and STRONG ! surfer
after catching a very very nice upwave today, we closed ALL longs conserving profits at 11:30 am. based on the daily extremely bearish technical signals at 3:45 , we stepped outside of the normal mechanical system and entered SHORTS in the djia via the YM contract. the technical picture is extremely compelling for additional selling monday or perhaps tuesday. holding shorts over the weekend. will calculate next neogann channel after this current trade is closed. enjoy ! surf
yes, had i held a little longer, i would have made more money. my stops and exits are discretionary--after profit level--- and entries are mechanical with the system. i am starting to develop more mechanically based exits but my work in this regard is just starting. take care, surfer
